If you’re going to use this for mash, then its fine but otherwise I wouldn’t waste your money. The bag I received was mostly powder
Our ducks stopped laying on Purina Duck Food.... for months. It was mostly dust, few pellets, bag after bag, at multiple stores. FOUR days on this organic food resulted in eggs daily...and they really love it! Thanks Modesto Milling.
I wanted to give this a try however it’s all dust and I have no way to feed it to my hens. Pretty disappointed
Chewy always does a great job, while I wish they have the option of overnight shipping, they always do deliver quickly and everything is always correct including this stuff!
I love the ingredients of this feed but the mark up is just to much. To feed more than just 5 birds
I have 6 hens that love this feed (Light Brahma, Black Bresse, Lavender Orpington). They eat it readily, and like it much better than the cheaper feed at the local feed store. It is an expensive feed, but I have a small flock. They waste less, because they eat every bit of it!
I ordered this for the first time as I was looking for an organic layer crumble for my flock of 5 chickens. I received this with a mill date that rendered it over 4 months old -- i.e. well past freshness point and not heathy. I called up Chewy to complain, and they, lovely as always, sent a new replacement bag. This time it was 2 months old (still not at all ideal). Well my chickens won't touch it. They were literally starving, looking thin and stopped laying rather than eating this Modesto Milling feed. After a week of starving chickens, I ran out and bought another layer feed (also new to them) and they gobbled it right up. I tried putting two different feeds out at once, the Modesto in their preferred feeder, and the other in their dispreferred feeder. They went to the dispreferred feeder that contained another feed. I think Chewy's needs to send feed with a very new mill date, or just stop carrying this. Something is wrong with it.
This feed is a complete mess! Is mostly powder but what is actually formed into a crumble my chickens loved.
This is a really nice feed that smells like it’s made with the good stuff. My (slightly picky) ladies eat it up. They weren’t big on main brand feed, but this stuff is definitely fresher and made with MUCH better ingredients.
My chickens eat what is not powder. Too much of the feed is powdered. Wish it came in pellets. Like that there is no soy and is non-GMO.
