Feeder is ok
I have two of these, one just broke today where it screws to the top. It lasted a few seasons though. I've seen others comment on the seed not coming through easily. If it was made for humans I would agree. It doesn't come out when you shake it but I've never seen a bird trying to get the seed out like that but that would be a sight to see! Birds grab it with their beaks through the openings in the tray and must have no trouble getting the seed out as they empty both of these out in a few days. The platform is big enough for most any birds, I've even had doves perching on it. It's pretty cute watching some birds peck at the glass until they figure out how it works lol
Super cute but
This feeder is really cute, but the design is flawed. The bottom holes that the birds feed through do not drop seed (it gets stuck in the glass vessel), unless I shake it hard. I’ve tried 3 different kinds of seed, including teeny tiny Nyjer seed & it still doesn’t allow seed to drop.
Is okay for now
Nice wide base, holds regular seed or thistle. Not as heavy as I'd hoped (we have strong winds here), so it does empty out fast just from bouncing around.

Looks really cute in my garden however I have not had one bird feed at it which is disappointing. Hopefully after some more time they will discover it

Great birdfeeder! Super cute and I love the style. It goes great with my decor outdoors. I have had a variety of birds visit.
Good price for nice, nostalgic bird feeder
I have had a glass jar feeder like this for years and have always liked it a lot. I noticed my current feeder has begun to rust thru the lid a bit (it is metal so this was expected after years out in weather). Therefore I began looking to purchase another "Mason jar feeder" like it. Fortunately, while buying kitty supplies on Chewy I thought about checking for bird feeders. There it was! I was very pleased at the low price for this high quality feeder. I received this glass bird feeder in the package with the cat litter I had ordered - Sounds a little scary but everything was good! As usual, Chewy packed the bag of litter carefully surrounded by packing paper and the bird feeder was in what appeared to be the original box from the manufacturer - it was in a heavy weight box with formed, fitted, hardened cardboard stacks at either end inside the box keeping it safe. This is a nice, nostalgic glass and metal bird feeder and the Chewy price was the best I had found for it. Highly recommend.
cracked trying to open
Really nice looking feeder, but the glass broke in my hand trying to open the lid. Now I’m looking to buy another feeder
Not what I expected
This really is better for small seeds and not sunflower and corn etc for the birds I have here. It would be okay for thistle. And its hard to fill since you have to completely remove the top which is hard to turn because it is the hanging top, or the bottom which you have to turn upside down to fill but then have to unhook the top and put it on before hanging it up. I like to do a quick fill and go. It may work for you, but I was disappointed.
Beautiful feeder
I love this feeder. It looks beautiful in the tree. You have to unscrew the top to put the food in. Most types of food will fit in the feeder. The base is rather large so many different birds can perch on it. I am very happy with the product and feel it is very good quality for the cost. Note it is only the feeder itself, it does not come with hanging equipment. :)

I ended up buying 4 of these. They look beautiful and attract a ton of birds. I definitely recommend this product.
