Bought this for a dog that passed before it arrived...

I bought this LambChop as a bedrest gift for a friend's lab that had tumor removal surgery. The dog passed the day before the toy arrived...I contacted Chewy to ask them how to send back the package, as the box was opened but the contents were intact. Instead, a customer service rep gave me a refund on the price of the toy (not shipping) and told me to keep it. If you want a reason aside from the toy to go through Chewy, they have some of the best customer care i've ever experienced. As far as the toy, I still have it. The regular size would have been plenty for a lab that was around 80lbs, its around 8-9inches long, maybe more. It is soft and the fur on the lamb doesn't pill. The stitching on the eyes and feet seem secure so if your pup likes to pull on their toys im sure this would hold up. I will be keeping this toy for myself, as odd as that sounds, but Bear wasn't able to be buried with it, so I think of it as a way to keep him with me. … more

Poor design for a dog toy

But of course being a dog, her teeth are sharp and catch all too easily in the KNIT yarn of its stuffed face, which promptly unravels. But of course being a dog, her teeth are sharp and catch all too easily in the KNIT yarn of its stuffed face, which promptly unravels. The day after she got the toy I had to sew the gaping sides of the yarn together where this had indeed happened, though the edges of unraveled yarn aren't very solid. A day later, Lambchop's face was almost half unraveled, with the tightly packed stuffing bulging out. I didn't have the heart to take it because she was having so much fun. Unfortunately, the following day the entire face was simply not there. Even though the whole toy is intact except the face, I took it away to prevent the stuffing from being scattered around my house. Since the rest is brand new I've kept it, hoping to figure out how to sew a face on this doll. It's just not realistic, frankly; I'd spend more in money and time than the toy cost. Why anyone would use a knit cover for a dog toy is puzzling. … more
