The baseboard may affect the stability of this gate.

will my cats climb up it and get out?
Answer by ChewySep 22, 2018
Pets like cats that are excellent climbers and jumpers may definitely be able to climb or even jump over this pet gate.

Can the dog knock it down ??
Answer by ChewyJun 03, 2019
This gate is pressure mounted so a determined pet might be able to knock it over.

LOVE THIS DOGGY GATE

idk why there are bad reviews, I about but I have had no issues with this gate and I’ve had it since mid 2020. I love how it has the lever to secure it in place. I have a 50 lb husky and a 5lb chihuahua and neither have ever knocked it down or messed with it. It expands pretty wide, I am even thinking about purchasing another because I sometimes use it for the entrance of my outside front patio so my chi can’t go down the stairs and it fits great!

portable pet gate

This gate is not fitting squarely against the wall. It works for our tiny puppy but I'm sure she will be able to knock it over when she gets bigger, since it barely holds.

Absolute junk

Flimsy and difficult to use, already broken after less than a month of light use, does not sit square on the wall. Do not recommend.

do not recommend

This gate is cheaply made, does not secure easily, and even when I think it’s secure it’s not. It bends and twists while I’m trying to put it up and is not sturdy at all.

Great Gate

It is lightweight which makes it easy to move around, and it secure my doorways with moldings well. I can also leverage it in some places without securing the pressure lever because it extends a lot and has a pretty wide base and my puppy is under 4 lbs and not a big jumper.

TOO SMALL FOR DOGS

Looking at the photos it appeared to be standard gate. my 80lb baby, Legaseigh, can step over the gate. She doesn't exert energy

great for Peter

our older dautshund is going blind and doesnt know how close he is to top stairstep. This gate allows him to still sense our nearness

Built for low-energy large breeds

It took a moment to figure out, but it's relatively easy to use. Unfortunately, it's not built for an excitable toy poodle (see attached pic). She uses the paw print holes to climb up and over it, rendering it ineffective. Prior to her figuring out she could climb it, she'd jump up and brace her paws against it, and knock it askew and half over. It doesn't sit flush with my door frame, but I live in an old apartment so that could entirely be the walls, not the gate. But the footholds are a design issue if you have a toy breed!
