Cat likes, but doesn't love
My cat tolerates this food, but she was uninterested in it after eating it for a few days. She would eat some of it, but never the whole thing (which is unlike her). The texture of this pate is kind of strange, it's almost sticky and it's hard to get out of the can. Overall I think it's probably a great food for cats with allergies (mine is allergic to chicken) but my cat did not enjoy this food at all. My cat was also not a fan of the whole peas, she would always leave any whole pieces she found in the bowl
Peas are bad.
I wish these grain free and limited ingredient foods did not have peas (or potatoes, legumes). Cats do not need carbs like dogs do. These ingredients are causing heart problems with dogs and the verdict is still out on the effects on cats. I am using this food to syringe feed my kitty who has EPI which works well by adding water. Occasionally a pea gets stuck in the syringe which is a hassle. I will continue using it until I find a grain free, limited ingredient without peas, legumes or potatoes. Then I will no longer use this one. BTW my kitty doesn't like this too well, but doesn't hate it either, which is the best I can get from her.
Good for them
My cats have been eating natural balance limited ingredient diet for awhile and they love it! This food works with thier bodies to help control any allergens they may have
Don’t like the consistency of the salmon and pea food. It seems to be too much pea.
my cat has allergies to at least chicken, and it promotes/gives? her asthma (per the vet). So I talked to the super smart folks at the agency I fostered her through and they said Natural Balance is the most accepted-by-cats limited ingredient food. Cat thinks it's fine!
Cats love it
I feed my 3 cats this wet food, they love it ! And dry food too.., I like the limited ingredients and no animal byproducts.
They don't like it
For wet food, it is REALLY dry. Like spackle. Hard to even clean the can out after. I tried adding water, fish oil didn't help. 12 out of 12 foster cats say no.
One of the most natural foods
I was feeding my cats raw food but that wasn’t working out for us any longer. I needed sobering as natural as possible that they would like & this fits the bill.
Odd consistency and not well liked by cats
My cats love other Natural Balance products, and a test run of this Salmon and Pea formula that I bought from a retail store went over well. I bought two cases of this in response, and of course they were soundly rejected by the cats. The ones from chewy had an odd texture, some brown residue on the inside of the cans, and in general didn't seem in as good of condition as the ones bought locally. Overall was rather disappointed in this purchase.
CATS CAN'T READ
Cats don't seem to get how good this is for them! They can't read. MY CATS WILL NOT TOUCH THIS BRAND, no matter how good you make it sound. Maybe it's because cats don't usually eat green peas? Why all the veggie additives? Cats are carnivores.
