If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals and increase over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10-14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.

Product contains fish bones
By Disappointed on Feb 24, 2021
I purchased this wet food for my three dogs (2 pitbull mixes and a Siberian husky) as a special treat to add to their kibble on occasion. One dog has a chicken allergy so it is very hard to find a wet food that she can have. This was to replace the Natural Balance Chop Lickin Stew which my dogs loved but has been unavailable from multiple pet retailers. This is a much smaller container (yet same price) and has a strong fish odor - like I have to rinse the empty container and put it in a zip lock bag before throwing it out so my trash doesn't stink. When I mixed it into their kibble I was disappointed with the small amount of fish. It was mostly gravy and sweet potatoes. My biggest concern was finding MULTIPLE fish bones in all but one of the containers that we have used thus far. I had to sort through it to get them out prior to feeding my dogs. From what I have read, dogs ingesting fish bones would likely be fine but there is no reason to risk it when other products were better quality. The previous product we bought contained large chunks of tuna, did not have as strong of an odor, and I never saw a bone in it over the past three years. I wish that one was still available. In summary, my dogs thoroughly enjoyed it and licked their bowls clean but I would much rather have a product with more meat and not have to worry about checking for bones. … more

I was excited for new food. Dog not so much
By Stellasmom on Feb 10, 2021 Top 1000 Contributor
I was all excited because I thought my dog would love this food. I opened it up and omg what strong fish order. I thought ok dogs like stinky things. I set the plate down she sniffed it and she ran! Yes you read that right she took off running. So I went and got her...put a bite in her mouth, she spit it out and ran again! So I'm gunna say this food is a big no for my girl.

Works well in our EPI dog!
By TheFuzzyOnes on Dec 18, 2020
I ordered this food as a topper for our super sensitive EPI dog. Everyone that owns a dog with this disease knows how little can throw them off and cause a flare up even with adding extra enzyme. Having a combination of a picky eater PLUS EPI pretty much turns feeding time into a nightmare. If they accept it, they might not do well on it and have a flare up or might develop an allergic reaction (he’s also allergic to any form of poultry and dairy - oh joy!) In this case, I am so happy to report that he not only LOVES the addition of this wet food, but also, didn’t develop diarrhea or any other symptoms as he often does when we switch up the food. We are now feeding this in combination with Earth Born Holistic Coastal Catch and haven’t had a flare up ever since! I was a little worried about reports regarding the smell, but after feeding our other dogs raw for a decade and occasionally feeding raw fish, this is nothing to worry about in the smells department. I find that a basic can of tuna smells stronger and leaves a stronger smell on my hands when handling it. … more

Natural Balance LID Diets - Healthy - Delicious - Tail Wagging Applause
By Harlow on Jan 19, 2021
My dog loves the white fish and sweet potato flavors and when I open it, he starts a special dance and vocalizations that are his versions of a happy song.

Big nope for this one
By Richard on Nov 3, 2020
My dog has a beef and chicken allergy, so finding food is already difficult, then his flavor was discontinued, so i bought him a case of the fish. Nope, poor guy would rather starve himself then even go near his dish.

My dog loves this, but......
By Bobo on Sep 27, 2020
Yes, my dog laps this up. I buy this fish flavor and the Wooferole (because he is allergic to chicken, which is in all the other flavors), and mix a small amount with his kibble to make a gravy. My only criticism with the fish flavor is that there's more gravy than fish, unlike the other flavors, which have more "meat." It's kind of expensive for a tub of mostly gravy.

Both my dogs get sick from eating this. Cancel my order

My dog got sick after eating this. Not sure if he will live through it.
By Alligatorshapedchewy on Apr 2, 2020
I have a 22 pound large silkie, 9 years old. He has eaten this before and it was great. Today we got a new Chewy box order delivered and I fed him from this new order and he was instantly not feeling well. Its been 2 hours now and he now is very lethargic and hot and breathing shallow. I am very concerned about this food's quality. After research my husband and I have found that in the past this food has had salmonella. This can pass to humans also. Not good.

Dog getting sick

Needed for medical reasons.
By Jill on Jan 2, 2020
My elderly dog had been eating the small bites dry kibble as well as the canned version of this whitefish and sweet potato diet. She has had medical GI issues and is finicky with regards to food. I switched to this tray style food when she refused to eat the other. She initially liked it and now refuses it too! Very strong fish smell compared to canned food. Not thrilled that it is processed in Thailand.
