The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog.
Puppies, and Pregnant or Nursing Females, require 2 - 3 times the Adult amounts. A reduction in food intake is recommended for less active and older dogs. Serve at room temperature. Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated. Fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 - 7 day period.
Day 1 - 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula Day 3 - 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula Day 5 - 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 - 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
How can I limit the ingredients my pet is exposed to?
Feeding formulas with limited ingredients is a great way to minimize their exposure to ingredients. Limited ingredient formulas have a restricted number of protein and carbohydrate sources.
How should I go about trying a limited ingredient diet for my pet?
Food trials on a limited ingredient diet should take place over at least 12 weeks using a novel protein and carbohydrate source that the pet has not had before. No other treats or food items should be fed during these first twelve weeks.
How else can I limit my pet’s exposure to certain ingredients?
Pets that can benefit from a limited ingredient diet should not have unsupervised access to human foods, garbage, or outdoor areas where they can ingest plants.

Ingredients have changed
By Cagg on Feb 20, 2021
This formula has changed along with the consistency, look at ingredient label it’s sweet potatoes and variations of potato products. I had a screenshot of an old label (from 9/2019) which listed venison as the first ingredient followed by venison tripe, venison liver. I also found out that Natural Balance was bought out by Smuckers hence they are probably cutting costs as venison is not cheap.

Skin allergies
By Catahoulapit2 on Jan 13, 2021
I almost 9 year old Catahoula pit started developing allergies and hives out of nowhere. itching and flaking and just miserable I decided to give this food a try and within 10 days his skin is almost healed. No itching no flaking or hives. My dogs love the taste and I'm very happy with the results on their skin!

Great Product
By Ellen on Feb 23, 2021
Have an older malamute who has some digestive problems. This is the first can food we have found that she has no issues digesting. We mix this with the Natural Balance dry food and she loves it!

Mushy consistency
By Peteypup on Jan 31, 2021
Our pup is a little hesitant when he first looked at the food in the bowl we have it mixed with his dry food. So far he has eaten it but I’m not sure I will buy this again because he’ll probably get tired of it pretty quick.

So far my dogs love this
By imfrmars on Jan 4, 2021
I have one dog who has to be on a bland diet due to pancreatitis so I am trying to get all of my dogs (don't ask) on the same food as he loves to go bowl hopping. I am at the present time just putting a little of this into each bowl and so far they all seem to like it. Lets hope

CANS WERE NOT FULL
By Sara on Nov 6, 2020
We have purchased this brand for quite sometime but our most recent order will be the last. The cans are not full. I attached photos of the “fullest” can and “least full” can in the flat. They used to fill them up to the top. Not anymore. It is a shame because the cans are not cheap but just as equally important, it messed up my serving count. When I order I assume I get so much per can. That was drastically wrong this time and I had to find substitutes. I do not recommend this product.

Good stuff
By NortyMom on Feb 7, 2021
I like it's consistency and my dogs seem to really like it. It was recommended by a friend of mine who owns a pet store and does a lot of research on pet foods.

Soupy and Runny
By DogParent on Feb 8, 2021
My dogs prefer solid food with something to chew. This dog food is like pudding. They like the taste, so I mix it with dry food.

My dog didn't like it.
By Nope on Jan 6, 2021
Natural Balance makes good products, but my dog would not eat the venison formula. Maybe it's because she's a smaller dog and this is better for a bigger dog. Picky eaters be warned...

Poor quality control
By Roro on Jan 16, 2021
Bought 2 packs, this was the 5th one I opened. Only filled 3/4 can, disappointed for Natural Balance’s quality control.
