Adult cats: Adult cats should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Chicken Dry Cat Food, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the table. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your cat’s needs. If you would like to provide a special treat for your cat, you can add small amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food.
Gestating and Lactating Queens: Gestating and lactating queens will consume more food, usually an additional 1/2 - 2 daily.
Older cats: As your cat begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for your less active cat. Older cats are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods. Adding larger amounts of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Chicken & Green Pea Canned Cat Food will help the most "finicky" eater enjoy their daily meals.
These feeding guidelines are suggested only. Feeding amounts may vary by breed, activity level, temperament and climate. Amounts are recommended for an average cat with normal activity.
We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your cat’s health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your cat. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
Transition Instructions
When switching your cat’s diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® L.I.D. Limited Ingredient Diets® Green Pea & Duck Dry Cat Food. The change should be completed after 5 - 7 days.

Can I get an updated on when this is due back in stock ?
Answer by zkittyp • Jan 26, 2022
Same here they told me the 19th of January. That isn’t happening. This is really frustrating when you have cats that only eat this. I don’t think it’s cheweys fault though. Call natural balance and ask
Why does it contain salmon oil? That defeats the purpose of a limited ingredient diet.
Answer by • Oct 20, 2017
The Salmon Oil in the Natural Balance formulas are an additional source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids and do not contain the protein causing allergen.
Are ANY of your ingredients sourced from China? To include vitamins?
Answer by • Apr 23, 2018
The manufacturer will source their high-quality ingredients within the United States depending on availability. However, certain ingredients will need to be outsourced (i,e: Lamb, Venison, Duck, Rabbit, Vitamin Packs, etc.) to ensure top quality and freshness while meeting a reasonable price point for pet parents.
Will it upset my cats stomach to alternate between the different flavors of Natural Balance cat food?
Answer by • Oct 08, 2017
While it's safe for your pets to rotate their diet, we always recommend mixing the new recipe with their previous one. That way it's introduced to your pet's tummy slowly.
The title says it all, my cat's fur has never looked this bad. It is as if they skipped on the vitamins or something. My cats have tried several brands of cat food, this is the only one that dried my cat's fur out. She looked like an abused cat; her fur was not silky like it usually is. She is a Chantilly Tifanny cat, normally she looks like she belongs on a commercial but not while she was eating this food. So disappointed, back to Freely rabbit dry food.

They live it
Went through 3 vets and flea diagnosis with multiple flea meds with a cat that looked like hamburger. Changed her food and sure enough, food allergy. This product has worked well and much less expensive than prescription brands. Give this a try first before the $80 a bag options.

They will all eat it
I ordered this from Chewy to try to see if one of my 3 cats would stop barfing up undigested food. I think he's just a chow hound when the kibble gets left out so I'm not sure if it helped any better than the previous food, however being a limited ingredient diet I am impressed that all of them will eat it. They finished the bag. The ingredients seem sufficient. I didn't notice any weight gain or smellier than usual boxes and their coats were soft. I would order it again.

Great for allergies
I think the price is better than some of higher end cat foods I have purchased and I love having the duck option. My cats do eat it but do not love it. However, I do believe it is helping my cats skin issues caused by allergies.

Switched from Z/D
I decided to switch from Z/D to this.
Z/D needed a script, was expensive and my cat still puked from time to time. I am pretty sure it is just how she is- I don't think she is very good at digesting hair balls, honestly. We have been on this for about 3 weeks and it's amazing! I have been trying food, mostly expensive prescription for YEARS. I am keeping my fingers crossed but I even noticed her poops are healthier and the puking is also better. I am so happy with this food.

Formula Changes and Inconsistent
I loved this cat food, but sometime in 2021 the production seemed noticeably different. The color and smell of the food was off, and when I asked the manufacturer they said no changes had been made to the recipe or process.
Shortly afterwards, this particular recipe was seemingly discontinued for a short period of time. It was impossible for me to find anywhere. It seems like it's back now, but the most recent experiences I've had with it make me hesitant to trust it again.

No hair balls!!
We have been feeding our cat NB green pea and duck for 7 years. We had been unable to find it for whatever reason and switched food. Found a hair ball for the first time ever after 7 years and noticed unfavorable changes in her coat. Recently found it again but most stores are low. Please keep this available!!!

Vet recommended
My spoiled cat is slowly realizing he isn't getting anything chicken in his diet and will eat this.
