Feeding and Mixing Guide for Puppies - 6 oz
- Puppies up to 11 weeks of age: Feed as much as your puppy will eat in 3 - 4 feedings per day.
- Weeks 11 - 26: Feed about 1 1/2 cans per 5 lb of bodyweight per day.
- Weeks 26 - 52: Feed about 1 can per 5 lb of bodyweight per day.
- For combination feeding: Reduce dry food by 1/2 cup* for every 6 oz of wet food offered.
- For reproduction: Feed to ideal body condition, which may be up to 50% more than normal Adult amounts.

Feeding Management
- Serve at room temperature.
- Any unused portion should be covered and refrigerated.
- Fresh water should be available at all times.
The amounts in the table are intended as guidelines only. The food intake should be adjusted according to the age, weight and activity of your dog. It is important for your dog’s health to maintain a proper body weight. Consult a veterinarian for specific weight recommendations.
When switching your pet's diet, we recommend transitioning from the current diet to any new Natural Balance Formula over a 5 - 7 day period.
Day 1 - 2: 25% Natural Balance Formula, 75% Current Pet Formula Day 3 - 4: 50% Natural Balance Formula, 50% Current Pet Formula Day 5 - 6: 75% Natural Balance Formula, 25% Current Pet Formula Day 7: 100% Natural Balance Formula
If you do not have any of your current formula to mix, reduce the amount of formula fed for the first few days, feeding smaller more frequent meals over time. If your pet is more sensitive to change, please allow 10 - 14 days to fully transition onto the new formula.
How should I incorporate solid foods into the new puppies’ diets?
Puppies can begin nibbling on canned food or moistened dry food prior to weaning (3 to 4 weeks of age). After weaning, portion-controlled feeding is recommended to help avoid obesity. From 6 weeks to 6 months, ideally feed 3 times a day. After 6 months, it is recommended to feed twice daily at a minimum.
How much should I feed the new puppies?
Puppies less than one year may need up to 3 times the adult requirement, but may need less as they mature or if they are spayed or neutered.
Any other tips on caring for the new puppies?
Take the new arrivals to the vet and establish regular veterinary visits. Also, get puppies used to regular tooth brushing and oral care at an early age. This is an important habit to establish because your pet’s teeth and gums are part of their digestive system. Maintaining good oral health will be vital to their overall health throughout their lifetime.Finally, make sure your pets always have access to fresh clean water!

Well this stuff doesn’t smell good but the pups like it. And it doesn’t give them gas! Which has been a struggle. You can see a few pieces of rice which is nice, but the pups like the chunks better not the chopped.

Our puppy loves this food- he goes especially crazy for his wet food meal. Also liked it because it was easy on his tummy while we transitioned from a different type of wet food (grain-free food to with grain switch as per vet recommendation). Would definitely recommend!

I have preferred since getting my puppy to buy her grain free recipes, but sometimes they have too many sugars/starches in them to compensate (sweet potatoes, potatoes, tapioca, etc.). Even though this wasn't grain free, the ingredients are still top-notch even with colostrum so I took a chance to see if my shih tzu would like this. She licked her bowl clean the first day I gave this to her! She can be a bit picky, so I was so happy when she dug right into this one! My only "complaint" would be that I wish the lids had the flip on them to open them as opposed to requiring a can opener. What an amazingly healthy puppy food!

My German Shepherd puppy loves Natural Balance canned puppy formula. I especially like the smaller single serve size can as I don’t have to store the rest for later. I add the puppy formula dry food and give the amount recommended by Natural Balance for her age and weight in pounds. It is a highly rated food for the German Shepherd breed.
