These feeding guidelines are suggested only. Feeding amounts may vary by breed, activity level, temperament and climate.
Adult cats should be fed either once or twice per day. When you first start feeding Natural Balance® dry cat food, we suggest to start with the amounts recommended in the Table. Energy requirements vary with environmental conditions, temperature and activity of your cat. The amount of food should always be adjusted to suit your cat’s needs. If you would like to provide a special treat for your cat, you can add small amounts of Natural Balance® Canned Cat Food.
For Older Cats: As your cat begins to age, his energy expenditure will decrease. Decreasing the amount of food accordingly will allow for the maintenance of proper body weight for less active cat. Older cats are sometimes more reluctant to eat hard foods. Adding larger amounts of Natural Balance® Canned Cat Food will make the most "finicky" eater enjoy their daily meals.
We recommend that you do not add vitamins, minerals or any other supplements, except upon the advice of a veterinarian. The maintenance of proper body weight is most important for your cat's health. Consult your veterinarian for specific weight recommendations for your cat. Remember, fresh clean water should be available at all times!
When switching your cat's diet, the change should be made gradually, by replacing the current food with increasing portions of Natural Balance® Original Ultra® Reduced Calorie Cat Food. The change should be completed after 5 - 7 days.

Cat's werent thrilled

I have four cats. Tried this reduced-calorie food over the Royal Canin I was buying. They ate it, but somewhat reluctantly. I feed it to supplement their wet feedings and one of my cats prefers the dry no matter what I feed. They just weren't crazy about this formula.

Tummy issue solver...

Our 'big' boy came from the shelter when he was 'little', had tummy issue from the get go!!! Vet recommended Natural Balance and it worked. Ollie was on the regular NB, we switched to Indoor NB when he two or three and now almost four years have past and our boy has blossomed, the vet says he needs to lose a few pounds so we switched to the Reduced Calories NB. All is well in the life of Ollie!!!

Not sure yet...but coping

We had regular food and loved it but "they" said we were getting fat so "they" switched us to this. We refused to eat it so "they" mixed in some of our old food and that was OK. Of course we picked around trying to find the old stuff but little by little we ate the new stuff. It's getting better but we have cut down a bit which is probably what "they" had in mind when the switch happened. Suki and Fuji

I thought it would make it easy to get my cat to lose weight, unfortunately Charley refused to eat it. Even mixed with his favorite, he ate around it, or spit it out. It can be hard loving a smarty cat!

As I said I really liked the idea of a reduced calorie cat food. Well cat said no way. But please try the food. This cat doesn't even like tuna fish. He like his reg. Natural Balance and that's it. What can I say? He doesn't like change.

First of all let me say we love Chewy. Ordering online makes it so much easier for us to take care of our cats; we don't have to worry about running out of anything because delivery is so fast! We bought this reduced calorie food because our cats are a little plump (vet recommended), and they actually love it. We initially mixed it with their other food but now they just get it with no other food mixed in and they clean their dish. Would highly recommend!

I have a 10 yr. old 17 lb male that should weigh 11-12 lbs. I usually sprinkle a bit of dry food on top of his wet food. So far, he seems OK with this one. Hoping it will help. His problem is that he likes most "everything"!!! Fingers crossed.

wasted money

I love this brand, I use it for my two dogs so I thought i'd try this reduced calorie for my over weight cat now that his brother passed away and it would only be him eating it. It sadly was a waste of my money though as he refused to eat it to the point where he was so hungry he decided to eat the Christmas tree instead, causing him to puke! very disappointed and broke.
