Use two fingers or a low-absorbent cloth to apply a generous amount of Skin Soother covering the area completely. Allow the area to dry (a nice belly rub always does the trick!) and follow up with a treat or play time for a positive reward!
Repeat one to three times daily. Consistent & frequent application to open wounds is crucial to protect against infections & harmful bacteria. Decrease application as the area improves.
Was really excited to receive this skin soother. My dog is older and battled skin issues along with Pancreatitis for a few years now. I read other reviews and really thought this would help. The reviews sounded like the same problems with the red skin under the front legs and licking and chewing the belly. We have been to the vet frequently and tried different meds along with making her food which has only helped some. She still had flare ups. Applied this a few times and it seemed to upset her system. She was sick and not eating well. Quit using until she felt better and tried again but only used a small amount in a few places. Once again digestive upset and not eating. I do think it's worth a try as I liked that it was all natural. I know some pets are sensitive to certain oils so this might be the case for my dog. Will continue to search for a natural alternative but had to take her back to the vet for more shots for now.
squirmy little monster chihuahua actually LOVES my massaging skin soother into the deepest parts of his paws and IMMEDIATELY works calming him
One of my dogs gets allergies off and on. She gets dry, rough skin with hair loss on her feet, under her tail, around her eyes, in her ears, and on each side of her mouth. I’ll start rubbing this balm on those areas and in just several days, her skin is smooth and the hair starts growing back. I’ve been using it a lot and there is still a lot of it left in the tin. A little bit goes a long way.
My dogs love the smell and try to lick it when I put it on so I have to do it at night and cover so they cannot lick it off. It seems to moisturize and soothe their skin. I primarily use it on their paws and ears as they are irritated and sore from the cold winter weather.
My 6yo pitbull/ rottie mix has been getting hotspots at the base of his tail that spread all up his back and sides, and he has never had this issue before. His skin has been extremely dry and you can just flake the dandruff off by petting him. I decided to try this and today was day 3 and I am amazed! It takes me about 10 minutes to apply it because he is 90 pounds. I have been applying it the entire way up his back to his shoulder blades. It absorbs very nicely after you work it in for a few minutes (his fur is thicker/ more coarse, like a Rottweiler). The consistency is more like an ointment. His dandruff is almost gone! I will definitely be adding it to his routine, and I will be trying their other products!
This is a very nice product. I have used it on diaper rash on my dog and surface wounds on my cats. Wonderful natural ingredients that have helped soothe and heal wounds quickly. Very small tin but blends on quickly and easily. Just a small amount is needed. Will purchase again.
Chewy has the best products and customer service My beloved little Nicki passed away this week- I spoke with Eduardo about canceling an order I had for Nicki- Eduardo was kind and compassionate/ flowers were delivered from Eduardo and the chewy team with condolences. My sincere gratitude for your thoughtfulness
Skin Soother did absolutely nothing for my two dog paws! I cleaned between pads, followed with Skin Soother, applied morning and night, no results over week! Waste of time and money, What a HOAX!
Amazing Product. We use skin soother on all our dogs. Our two sanctuary dogs have benefited greatly from it. Big fan!!
Dog had rashes on his belly for a few days and I saw this on Chewy. The product works very effectively and heals after 2 days of applying 2-3 times a day.
