Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.
Additional Instructions
Start by placing one to two inches of Naturally Fresh Litter in a clean cat litter box. Top dress with enough of your current cat litter to cover Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Quick-Clumping Litter. Each time you change the litter, reduce the amount of your current litter.
It typically takes one or two changes for most cats to be comfortable with a new litter. Repeat reducing the amount of your current litter if needed.
I used this litter with the breeze litter box system for an entire year. I just have one cat, so this worked great for me. Not exactly dust free, but it certainly doesn’t get everywhere like traditional clay litters. I don’t know if I got a bad bag, or if they changed the formula recently, but this litter is going from lasting sometimes a month and a half to crumbling (literally) within two weeks. My cat is a digger; she definitely flings the litter around more than average cats, but my last few bags lasted much longer than this. It’s starting to really pile up in the drawer with the absorbing pad. Not to mention, the smell control is not the same at all. I do a deep clean of the litter box every so often, not to mention switching out the litter every month, but this litter starts to get stale now in less than two weeks. Again, I have one small cat. That’s definitely not supposed to happen. I used to recommend this litter to all my cat parent friends, but now I’m telling them to stay away. This new formulation, this batch, whatever it is, is terrible now. Pay more for the pellets that last way longer.
This might work for a single cat household that can't use pine because of an allergy or something. However, for a four cat household in the heat of Arizona right now (will be worse later) this stuff does not work. The entire house smells so bad and the pellets arent even dissolved yet. I sift daily and the ammonia smell is so strong that I'm just tossing all the rest of the pellets and I'll need to stick to pine from now on. Definitely not worth the money for a larger cat household. I switched litters because spouse is allergic to pine but we'll just have to stock up on allergy meds instead.
My long-haired cat refused to use litter boxes, which was very annoying. He was a rescue cat that had all shots. I guess that was why they gave him up. I was close to it as well. Being an outside cat was not an option. i noticed he was urinating on the wood that we brought in for fireplace. I chose this as my alternative and am happy to report that he always uses it. A great accomplishment for both of us.
Compared to its pine predessor, these pellets due hold better. When they do break apart eventually the dust does collect and clump with urine. Have not had issues with dust, or pellets, leaving the cat box on paws. Pine pellets however do have a better scent and holds urine odor. An absorbant pad under the pellets is still recommended to absorb urine, even with pine pellets.
Cats wouldn't use. Found poop out and away from pan several times in our brief test period. Not well thought out- pellets too large for standard scoop(we have three). Discontinued very quickly.
This is good stuff. This week was hectic and I only took poo out, and mixed the pellets a little, once during the week. No smells, no mess. It took my two furs a little bit to get used to it, but they're okay with it now.
Would not recommend, you cannot just scoop out the poop & continue to use for a couple weeks like you can with breeze pellets. Because these are made made of walnuts (which is a natural/organic substance obviously) if some cat poop is left behind or the moisture from the cat pee the pellets become a great place for flies to lay eggs. Caused a horrible fly problem in our house before I realized why/what was going on.
I suppose this might be wonderful for guinea pigs, rabbits, and the like, but it is NOT, I repeat NOT, an acceptable cat litter. If you scoop out poop, you remove the pellets, so it's gone in no time. What it's supposed to do for urine, I am at a loss. Definitely NOT cat litter.
Cat hates it and is peeing next to the litter box. I don't blame him, this stuff is gross. The pellets just soak up the pee so it's always in the litter. When I remove the poop, I remove a lot of the pellets with it so this isn't going to last long at all.
I'm very happy with Naturally Fresh, however, I'm afraid it will not last the six (6) weeks that I had planned on for ordering and will have to change my order schedule to four (4) weeks. And may I ask, does this product come in clumping litter?
