Blessing in a bag

My 8 y/o boxer has been through some rough times with her GI sensitivities the past few years. Constant diarrhea and she was eating it but somehow maintaining her weight and the vet said nothing was wrong. Only instructed me to feed her a quality brand that was poultry based because the proteins are smaller and easier for her gut to break down. But nothing suited her. Every few months I change her food to see if there’s something better out there for her. Even on Purina Fortiflora for 6 months or longer, she still did not have formed stools. I can’t even keep her in the house overnight in bad weather without waking up midnight for a potty break because she literally can’t hold it in. Recently, one evening I was browsing options on here for her, once again, because it bothers me so much to know that her belly probably hurts her everyday. I came across this brand and couldn’t recall if we had tried a grain free type before. She has been eating this mixed half and half with her old dog food which is Hills Science large breed and the fortiflora for about a week and she now has formed stool! Praise God! That sounds so silly to say but if you love your fur babies enough, you’ll understand. I’m praying she’s feeling relief also and hopefully this continues to be good for her. So far, a miracle!

New Formula Smells Bad

I agree with the others who say this food smells bad--like stinky cheese! Stinks up the house and feeding is now very unpleasant. We opened a brand new bag and gagged. This food had been great for many years. Can it be replaced with something better?

Seems good

Owen’s gas has virtually ceased since getting him on grain free food. Slow transition to this new food but after a couple of weeks we all seem happier. A little expensive but worth it for “the boys “.

smells awful

I have been getting this food for my dog for four years, but the last couple of bags have smelled awful. I let the first bag slide, thinking it was just a fluke, but obviously something has changed. Time to switch.

Excellent

My grocery store and other stores I checked are not carrying this brand. When my dog got sick, the vet told me never to feed her anything but Nature's Recipe. She loves it and she has not had any stomach problem since she has been eating this for two years.

Nature's Recipe

Sally doesn't like it very much. She liked the last bag but we had mice & they ate 1/2 of it. When I went to order another one, you were out of stock. I don't think she likes sweet potatoes!

Food for dogs

Thankful that this dog food is available thru Chewy. Hard to find in other outlets that sells food for pets.

was good but

My dogs did love this food, but the last bag my dog who never turns food away, has been snubbing his nose away…. They’ve changed something and I probably not buy anymore.

I've gotten this good for years, this bag we just got smells absolutely terrible, like it has gone bad.

Natures Recipe Chicken

My dog was eating the salmon flavor, but Chewy doesn't carry it in large bags. I switched him to chicken, he seems to be eating it. I will continue to purchase the chicken.
