Customized for Your Dog's Needs

Whether you have a tiny purebred Chihuahua, a dog with a sensitive tummy or a Great Pyrenees with skin issues, Nature's Recipe has a specialized diet for your pet. Their Special Needs line includes Breed Specific, High Protein, Easy to Digest, Healthy Skin, Joint Health and Healthy Weight recipes to cover every pet's needs.

Just the Right Size

Small breeds have different requirements than larger breeds when it comes to their daily diet. Nature's Recipe has several unique offerings for each size. Small breed meals focus on sustaining your pup's energy with food that's easy to digest. And large breed formulas help maintain strong muscles and joints as well as the proper weight.

High-Protein Recipe

Nature's Recipe Adult food keeps up the energy your dog had as a puppy and powers your active dog's metabolism and alertness. High-quality protein from premium sources like chicken and lamb help maintain your adult dog's lean muscle mass.

A Meal That's Easy to Digest

Any good dog food should be highly digestible and easy on your furry friend's stomach. Easy to Digest is a formula that gives your dog the proper nutrition so his body can absorb a higher percentage of nutrients. This leads to better digestive health and colon function.

Shiny Coats and Healthy Skin

A healthy, strong coat gives dogs protection from the elements and is a good indicator of their overall well-being. Healthy Skin recipes offer high-quality venison meal or vegetable-based proteins, omega-6, linoleic acid, copper and zinc—ingredients that support the skin, coat and immune system.

Mobility and Joint Support

Joint Health uses two premium protein sources loaded with amino acids, along with a dose of vitamin C, for natural joint support. There's a delicious combo of catfish meal and chicken meal in this recipe, and DHA is added to support brain function.

Weight Management

If your dog needs a weight management plan, Healthy Weight can help keep him on track. This formula has L-carnitine to metabolize fat, soluble fiber to make your chowhound feel full, and high-quality protein for leaner muscles.

About Nature's Recipe

Nature's Recipe uses only natural ingredients and specific vitamins and nutrients to keep dogs and cats healthy. Their premium pet foods never use ingredients like beef, corn or wheat that tend to cause food intolerances. They include quality protein and nutrients without artificial flavors or colors because they believe your pet deserves only the best.

Make sure you are ordering Nature's Recipe STEW and not GROUND

My dog absolutely loves the Nature's Recipe Chicken, Rice & Turkey Recipe - HOWEVER - MAKE SURE YOU ARE ORDERING NATURE'S RECIPE STEW AND NOT GROUND. Only after receiving the order did I realize I had ordered the larger can which is the GROUND RECIPE. My dog does not truly like even though it has the same basic ingredients. So I thought I would share in case anyone else is ordering this product for their dogs (the description for each of these dog foods is very similar).

Dogs would not eat--had weird smell

My dogs are not picky but all four refused to eat this food after a bite or two. I have to admit, it had an unappetizing smell when I opened the can. Tried another, a couple of days later with the same result. Donated the remaining cans to a local shelter in hopes they can find a dog that will like it. Nature's recipe used to be my go-to canned and dry food. No longer.

Why won’t my dog eat this?

My Great Pyrenees won’t touch this but love the with lamb. I tried it with my other 3 dogs (poodle chow, shitzu and poodle)no go. I now have two cases I’m dropping off to animal shelter. What is about this flavor they dont like .

All Natural

2 of my 3 dogs love this canned food. I've had to put then on a chicken only diet due to allergies. When I don't have time to make up some homemade food, this works as the alternative. I guess my one dog likes home cooked only. She eats it but not a big fan. This product is pretty much all natural so this makes me pretty happy.

My dogs say “good stuff”

My dogs are finicky in what they will eat but they love this wet food. I switch it around with other flavors but when this is in their bowls, it’s gone!

"ABC" dog food?

If "easy-to-digest" means "Already Been Chewed" into total mush that your dog will have to lick to get it out of the pan, then I guess this is good food; but if you expect your dog food to have any firmness, so your dog can eat it in bites, it is not good. I bought this food because the previous brand of Chicken & Rice I had been buying had changed and become way too mushy, but it turns out this food is just as mushy. Different brands, but seem to have the same recipe. My dogs seem to like the flavor, which is why 3 stars instead of fewer, but my dog with the flatter face finds it difficult to eat so I have to spoon feed him, which I shouldn't have to do.

Dissatisfied

At first I was in favor of Chewy.com but for the last three months their prices are jumping all over the place and my orders have been very dry or soak and wet. Their consistency is getting ridiculous and the cans are bent all over but the boxes are not. They show two different prices for what I order. One is 17 and change and the other is 13 and change for exact same food. They really need to tighten up on their quality or I will be getting my dog food somewhere else. Step it up Chewy or say goodbye!!!

There Must Be Doggy Crack in That Can!

After our long odyssey seeking food that both of my picky eaters and their tender tummies can agree upon, we discovered Nature's Recipe Original Stew. This food has just the right degree of wetness without being soupy, so Daisy Mae's prescription dry food mixes very well with it. Scout has been very picky lately, but gobbles this up as though I haven't fed him in days. The color was a little disturbing, but there are no artificial colors, and they love it. Hooray!

prices skyrocketing!

Great product and my dogs love it, but prices for case of 12 had nearly doubled! Crazy! Going to have to look for alternative if prices keep rising.
