About Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Cat Food

Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet Cat Food
1 ANIMAL PROTEIN

1 ANIMAL PROTEIN

The ingredient list is purposefully simple for pets with food sensitivities. It focuses on one animal protein and one vegetable—versus the mix of each you'll find in most pet foods.

SIMPLE AND ESSENTIAL

SIMPLE AND ESSENTIAL

Sometimes what's not included is just as important as what is. Our recipes are made with cage-free poultry or farm-raised rabbit and always made without grain, dairy, eggs, potato, corn, wheat, soy or artificial ingredients.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

They put the pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece of Instinct Limited Ingredient Diet by tumbling their kibble with crushed, freeze-dried raw—raising the bar in nutrition and taste.

The Pure, Real Nutrition of Raw Is In Everything Instinct Does

Instinct's Responsibility as The Raw Brand

LEAD WITH RAW

It all started with Instinct's raw pet food. Since the beginning, they've led with raw because they know the good it can do. They're rewriting the rules of pet food and championing raw nutrition to bring its superior benefits to all that they do.

KEEP IT REAL

Delicious and nutritious pet food should only use real ingredients. For Instinct, this means all-natural, real meat, fruits and vegetables, with nothing artificial.

MAKE IT SIMPLE

Feeding raw should be simple, and it should easily fit into your everyday routine. Instinct believes raw should be accessible to pet parents so every pet can experience the benefits of raw nutrition.

GIVE BACK

Instinct believes in the power of raw nutrition. It only makes sense to share it. Together with Best Friends Animal Society, they're furthering the no-kill movement and their shared mission of transforming and saving the lives of pets.

MAKE IT BETTER

Instinct has never been afraid to challenge the status quo of pet nutrition. They continuously redefine what better means—always pushing their standards of nutrition to raise the bar in pet food.

Pure, real nutrition of raw on every piece

ONE MILLION MEALS

All pets deserve food that's real, nutrient-rich, grain-free and natural. That's why Instinct provides over one million meals annually to the dogs and cats at Best Friends Animal Society adoption centers nationwide. Because what we feed them can make all the difference. Here "we" refers to the pet parent, not Instinct.

About Instinct

Instinct believes deeply that it's up to them to find a way to make it possible for more people to feed their pets the pure, real nutrition that only comes from raw. They know that if they can get the nutrition of raw into more bowls, they'll transform the lives of more pets. And that's really why they do what they do.

My cat loves all the flavors of this brand- she used to go crazy for the rabbit before she started puking it up. The one protein she consistently keeps down is duck, sadly. This is one of the better-quality LID wet foods on the market. The only reason it's four stars instead of five is because the texture and the amount of bone included varies immensely from batch to batch. (If you do see a rather large bone fragment, you can always remove it- though my cat has the tendency to eat around the bigger ones.)

  • just worth it

    By on

Just switched all five of our retired show cats to this food. It was a remarkably easy switch, accepted on the first try by 4 of 5 cats and the 5th kitty is coming around. It is really expensive, but if you compare the ingredients to other foods you will find its worth it. This is real food. Smells like duck when you open the can. We have some ibd cats and all are doing great.

  • Cats like it

My two kitties like it, but I can tell that they will get bored with it, it is good food. It does give them some energy.

  • Nature's Variety not as good as it was under the previous owner.

I have been buying the Nature's Variety Limited Ingredient grain free Lamb for over a year for my Persian Kitty who has IBSD. With the addition of some Metamucil he has been doing just fine. I did not mind paying what I think is a premium price for it as it was a good full packed can and fed him for a day. A while back it started getting very watery, with not as much meat. Then it was discontinued all together. So I went to the Limited Ingredient Duck, same problem can full of water, less meat. Same with the venison. We tried the rabbit and he refused to eat it. Now takes two cans to fill him up for the day because of all the water. He is a small cat only weighs 6lbs. 3oz. • Great for sensitive stomachs

Although this is a fantastic formula and my cats inhaled this food the first time I gave it to them, they refused to eat it after I fed them the rabbit. They clearly had a preference.

  • Okay, but a little dry

    By on

My cats eat it mixed with the raw food diet I give them. I mix it in for flavor and they do like duck as a change from chicken. It could be a bit more "saucy" as it is a bit dry. I add water to it so it works out okay.

  • The one for whom the meat feeds did not

But the other less bungholio cats ate it ok :) kind of a more soupy texture which prob means humbler cats will eat it but diva cats will think it's beneath her or him and demand the pricier rabbit ;)
