Nutritional information says 120mg Melatonin. Am I reading something wrong? That seems like a huge dose.
Answer by • Sep 24, 2018
This product has 120 micrograms of Melatonin. For a complete list of ingredient amounts, click the “Nutritional Info” tab, next to the “Description” tab, just under the product photos.
What are the side effects of melatonin?
Answer by • Jul 23, 2018
Side effects of melatonin in dogs, although rare, include: itching, increased heart rate, gastric upset and stomach cramps.
Can these be cut in half with a pill splitter?
Answer by • Jun 13, 2018
These tablets can be cut in half for easier administration.
It says the pills are “chewable tabs” but they are huge and hard— definitely not chewable by my 10 lb dog.

Works great
Our rescue is very afraid of thunder and fireworks. We have tried many things but this works really well. I especially love how you can break the pill in half and space out the dosing.

Problems with calming tabs with melatonin
I had used this product before they added melatonin and it worked great on my 7 year old retired breeder dog English Creme golden retriever I have had her two months now. She had no health problems before I got her. The previous product before they added melatonin helped this dog greatly to adjust her new home (she was scared etc. she had no training prior. So the product helped me to train her sit, down go up and downstairs. I ordered a bottle with melatonin added then she started having gastric upsets bladder problems etc. I found info on the net that melatonin causes this in some dogs. Nothing else changed food etc on my dog except this product. Anyway as of now I am waiting to see a vet about her. I had already ordered another big bottle but I have been scared to use so have never opened it. I am 81 and have had dogs all my life and have never had problems with a dog like I am having now with Mia. It’s been a big disappointment that they changed the ingredients now adding melatonin.

so relieved
My puppy has separation anxiety especially at night when it’s time to go into his crate. His barking was making our senior dog stress out too. Half a tablet each (the puppy is about 20 lbs and our senior is closer to 70 lbs) and it’s so much quieter at night. It doesn’t necessarily make them go to sleep but it relaxes the puppy enough to stay in the crate and now the whole family is getting sleep.
There were no adverse effects in our senior but the puppy occasionally has a little diarrhea but not severe.
Stuff like this doesn’t work for every dog but I’m so thankful it worked for us.
Soft and easily chewable for both dogs, I do have to break it up a little tho.
Worth a try for anyone who has a furry friend with any time of anxiety

Better than most!
What I like about this product is that you only need 3 tablets for larger dogs, not the "usual" six or so...and mine has easily taken it as a treat.
It also has a larger percentage of the calming ingredients I look for.

kinda worked-
So after reading the reviews I decided to purchase for a road trip we were taking with our GSD. We'd be in the car for 6 hours and I wanted him to be calm and relax.-
I did try it out before the actual trip, to see how it worked and to make sure it didn't upset his stomach.
The good news is it didn't upset his stomach.
The bad news is it takes a very long time before it actually works- for my dog anyway.
The directions say to give at least 30 minutes before. Did this, and it took at least an hour before it somewhat calmed him.
My GSD did take them with no problem- I wrapped them in cheese and he took w/o hesitation. I just wish it worked a little faster. First time I gave 3 pills, next time we did 4.
We'll keep and possibly try again, should we take another trip.

Not effective
My dog has pretty high separation anxiety and I tried this along with Benedryl when out of town for work. It was not effective, she still ate her kennel.

Top 1000 Contibutor
Did nothing and dog was not interested in eating it!
so I purchased a few calming products for our new rescue pup. he is terrified of the car. (we tested each product on independent car rides- as to find which one was the most effective) Although I never expect a product to be more effective than training.. i was sad this didn't help us any. I was expecting it to help him sleep but it didn't seem to make any changes. I saw in other reviews that their dog didn't want to eat it.. and yep, same for us! i rolled it in some cheese and it did the trick.. but for a "treat" i think you shouldn't have to disguise it.
