Bought a pair of these for my fuzznuggets (we'll call them Chaos and Trouble) in January. Chaos, contrary to expectation, loves her new collar; she immediately swaggered around the house as if showing off, and has had no issue with it since. Trouble kicked at hers for a bit, but got used to it...or so I thought. Starting the next morning, I heard periodic jingling. It stopped as soon as Trouble realized I was paying attention, only to resume in an hour or two. The following evening, she jumped up on my desk, twisted her neck and dipped her chin, and proceeded to get one of her pointy little demon fangs stuck in the openwork bell. Fortunately for Trouble, a) she waited for the biped with opposable thumbs to be present, and b) the bell is made out of an exceedingly pliable metal (nickel or zinc, maybe). So, on the downside, the pretty bell was destroyed within days of arriving (see photo); on the upside, the bell is actually really easy to remove from this collar design. All has been well for several weeks, and I thought Trouble was simply content to be a silent agent of mischief--until this afternoon, when I realized that somewhere in the last day or so, she has completely lost her collar. I have hunted all through the house for it, to no avail, so now I'm shopping for a replacement. Of a different style, if that wasn't clear, but that's a complaint specific to Trouble rather than an objection of mine to this particular collar. Points in favor: beautiful design, nice fabric texture; paint on bell isn't perfect, but it's not poorly done. Easy to adjust. Flimsy bell can easily be detached from both collar and teeth. Easy-off construction minimizes risk of cat being accidentally strangled on something. Points against: Easy for cat to adjust. Flimsy bell can easily be crushed and mangled by tiny cat jaws. Easy-off construction maximizes risk of cat intentionally ditching the thing and running about in the altogether. 5 stars from Chaos; 1 star from Trouble. We'll call it a 3. If your cat isn't fussed about collars, this is a pretty one that you'll like. If your cat has never met an object he/she couldn't destroy, stick with the basic breakaway collars from your local store.
First, the bell is so fancy it looks like a Pandora Charm! I had to remove the bell for her sanity, tho. Just got it on her and its a little puffy. It stands out from her fur more than the typical flat collars as to be expected. The size knots do move easily so I will be keeping an eye out if they slide and cause the collar to fall off. I may just add a stitch to secure the knots in place. Break away lock works correctly. Im buying a different color for her brother next month! Im a total Weeb so of course Im in love with the Sakura design. Hope Sissy likes it too!
Absolutely gorgeous collar. Bell is pretty, nice material. However, it's very delicate. The slide knotting came undone and the collar became unadjustable within 2 weeks. And I have a very gentle cat. The bell somehow got mushed on one side too.
This collar is the first collar ever on my rescue cat of about 5 yrs old. She has worn it for weeks and no signs of being distracted or attempts to remove it. Great for a first time collar training because it has no flat edges to irritate your fur baby.
The design and bell is super cute and I got it with a bell so I could hear my kitten since she loves to crawl around random spots. However she frequently scratches at it and it gets loose and needs frequent tightening almost daily. If your cat scratches on their collar a lot, you may want to consider a different model.
beautiful collar compliments my calico cat coloring, looked big in the picture but it is perfectly cat sized and so soft. my cat likes it so much she is even tolerating the bell (first time).
It's a beautiful collar, but I am constantly tightening the knots every day.
Got this for my 2 year old kitty and it is beautiful! Fabric is soft and more flexible as it is not the standard type of material of other collars and the colors are so delicate and sweet. The bell is well crafted and so pretty with the blossoms. Only downside is if you have a name plate and not a name tag that hangs. The name plate doesn’t stay on sadly but wouldn’t be a problem if you had a standard name tag that hangs down. If my little one didn’t hang her name tag in the water I would get her a standard name tag that hangs down so she could wear it.
The colors on this collar are just lovely, and so is the design! Very soft, my cat doesn't mind it at all. It's such a unique design, I've had friends ask where I got it from.
I want to love this collar, it's adorable, the fabric is sturdy, and the colors are stunning. My one critique would be the bell casing. I noticed the other day that it didn't sound as loud as it should. When I went to look at it, part of the casing had been squished in, so the bell didn't move/ring properly. I had to fix it with needle-nose pliers. Considering I got the collar about a week ago, it doesn't bode well for longevity. Since the bell is incredibly important to locating my little void, this is what made me drop my rating.
