I have a German shepherd, and she's had this toy for YEARS. It's only now that she's finally shaken it a few (hundred) too many times that it has split down the side I'm out here looking for a replacement. If you have a medium dog, this one might be just big enough to get stuck around their neck or something, but it's absolutely perfect for a big dog with a strong fetch and chew/shake-on-the-way-back instinct. They will 100% tear it up if you leave them unsupervised with it, but when it's used as an outdoor fetching toy, you can't get any better. I seriously hope they never stop making these!
Wouldn’t buy again. It was very, very thin. I thought it was heavy duty like other Nerf toys, but it was hard plastic and thin so my dog was able to splinter it off in pieces and we had to throw it away the same day we gave it to our dogs.
We love to throw and catch this toy. It is durable but soft to catch
Our dog prefers soft frisbees but tears them immediately and they don’t last. This toy is more durable than the fabric ones and will last. It’s a little too hard and our dog will catch it but not as enthusiastically as he does with the soft ones. It is easy to throw. Definitely easier on a dog’s mouth than the very hard plastic ones. For us, I took off one star because while it flies well, will last and is slightly softer than plastic, it is still too stiff for our dog.
The big pup got ahold of it and managed to chew pieces off. We'd had another Nerf frisbee that lasted very well against the puppy teeth but this one did not. It was made of a different material.
Our dog first encountered one of these at the local dog park where multiple dogs play with it every day. She loved it so much we got her one for home. She loves this flyer because it both soars and rolls. She loves chasing after it as it rolls across the ground. The rugged edges make the toy easy to grip for both humans and dogs. The hole in the center allows our dog to pick it up easily whether it lands up or down.
This was not sturdy enough for a 92 lb English Cream Retriever... he chewed it up in about 4 minutes!
Got delivery yesterday and within 2 hours of giving my dog the toy, he had broken off a piece around the edge. He had a transparent nerf flyer before this one that lasted well over a year, so quality was not as expected with the new toy.
My dog chewed it up in 2 mins. Thought it was stronger then it was.
My 3 large dogs love playing fetch with this toy. They also like playing tug with each other. This toy is sturdy.
