Not worth it

I bought this to go along with the ecoflex coop and I'm very disappointed in this run. It is very flimsy and way over priced for what it is. This would not protect against any predators. It's a cheap plastic with chicken wire stapled on. You will have to wrap the whole thing in hardware cloth and change the lock to make it semi predator proof. You're better off making your own run.

CHEAPLY MADE - not worth it!

Got this put together the screws that hold it together are like a hard sort of plastic and the minute I tried to move for my chickens the entire thing broke and snapped off the screws inside the holes! Was not too much weight to move it at all. Just terribly made for the price.

Great quail coop

Bought this to house 6 Coturnix quail, works perfectly. Used indoors at first,, then outdoors. A skunk tried to get through the mesh more then once and couldn't. Easy to clean, large space, low roof. Our quails are so happy they lay a ton of eggs inside it. Put 2 feeders, 2 water dispensers, am oyster shell bowl, a box to hide and a plate of veggies and still had space. Love this item.

Flimsy Framing, Cheap Mesh, How Long Will It Last???

We bought the coop and pen after doing a lot of searching for a reasonably priced coop. The lower priced wooden ones you see everywhere are horribly made. We thought this might be better considering the wood/plastic polymer composite. We thought it would be like "Trex" decking, a really durable composite. We were wrong. The "mesh" is really flimsy, and held in by a few staples all the way around. I added some of my own after one section of the mesh came loose. I wouldn't want to find out what would happen if a decent sized predator jumped up on top. I imagine the mesh would cave right in. They claim it is designed to last for years... maybe if you never use it. They claim the latches and "sturdy" mesh are predator resistant... and I doubt that. Overall not impressed by this product. It seems a great concept, poorly realized in a final product.

I returned it

The holes for the screws did not line up from piece to piece. Very flimsy. I bought supplies to build a wooden one from scratch and spent less money. Do it yourself and spare yourself a headache. I do appreciate the easy return process.

Waste of money - total trash

The pieces do not match the instructions. I attempted to put it together anyways - how hard can it be right? Well, when they put half of the wrong parts in the box, it is impossible. And the solution- submit a "ticket" in which they will respond in 7-10 business days. Now I have a hunk of broken junk that I have to throw in the garbage.

Will work well for my (non-chicken) birds :)

I purchased this as an enclosure for my parakeets so they can safely forage in the grass, enjoy some sunshine and fresh air, and possibly interact with some of the wild jays, cardinals and finches in my yard. To complete the outdoor playpen for my birds, I plan to add some perches and food/water bowls to add to their comfort, and will also staple a section of canvas over part of the enclosure to provide shade. The most important reason why I bought this pen was to minimize the risk of harm to my birds by any predatory animals (my backyard is visited by everything from hawks, foxes, to even the occasional coyote). This enclosure is not 100% predator-proof, especially since it has no wire on the bottom. I would never leave a bird of any size in this enclosure overnight - a coyote or fox would, with enough time, eventually find its way into this enclosure. But - since I only plan on having the birds in it during the day, and will not be leaving them in it without supervision, this enclosure works perfectly for my needs. It is incredibly spacious for my little birds. It is boxy and heavy enough that it cannot be easily tipped over, and the frame and mesh fencing is strong enough to offer the birds protection from any sneak attack an animal might attempt if I step into the house for a minute or two. I like that the pen is made of a plastic composite material, it should add years to the life of the enclosure.

Not Sturdy

This chicken pen is made cheaply. The screens are stapled. The pen is flimsy. I would not trust leaving my chickens in this pen. To easy for Raccoons and other predators. Easy to put together even with some numbers missing on some of the parts. If it was not so much trouble to take apart and send back I would. I have wasted my money on this and the Chick coop. Maybe the Nashville Humane society can use them indoors. I can not use either here on my farm Thank you

Not just for chickens

I actually got this for my cats to enjoy being outside and secure without a harness and leash, which they don't mind. It's portable and roomy for any small pet. Indoors or out.
