Dog was sick after taking it

I gave this to my dog a day before we went on vacation to a cabin deep in the woods. Unfortunately, about 12 hours later he started to vomit and shake in pain. We ended up at the emergency vet. He was sick for days with nausea and stomach cramps. The vet stated that we can't say with 100% certainty that it was Nexgard so I want to be transparent. But its the only thing he had added to his normal routine that day and GI upset is a side effect of the medication. We did not get to go on vacation and ended up spending over a thousand on the vet bill. I will not give this to my dog again.

I highly recommend Nexgard for your puppies or dogs. I used to use Frontline or Pet Armour Plus, but my vet has turned to Nexgard. It's so simple to give your dog, bc its like giving them a treat & they take it with no problem! My Goldendoodle loves it when it's time for him to take his Nexgard or heartguard medicine, bc both of them are like a chewable Flavored treat. It has been a preventative for him so far for a year & a half.

Dog had Allergic Reaction- Bad Side Effects

I got a free sample from my vet for Nexgard. I decided to try it for my 11 year old Dachshund who is 30lbs. HUGE MISTAKE! My dog woke me up at 3am that morning scratching himself raw. His ears were blood shot red, his stomach looked sun burnt, nose dry and he was so warm to touch. I instantly gave him 25mg Benadryl until his vet could see him which I think was a saving grace because he clearly was having a negative reaction. His fur blew out all over the floor for two days. His stomach and ears stayed red, he was lethargic, he couldn’t utilize his back legs (he was dragging them) and now he won’t go potty in our backyard. I did further research and found out that Nexgard can cause seizures in dogs. How terrifying! I found a lot of similar stories online with their dogs negative experience with Nexgard. FDA has approved this drug knowing the side effects. Do not give this to a senior dog, give them what they know. That was my first and last mistake. Luckily, it was only one chewy, but now it’s waiting game of 30 days for ongoing symptoms to subside. Be cautious, do your research, and make the best plan for your fur babies.

Not for my pet

So I purchased a six month supply of nexgard at my vet and I noticed every time I gave her this chewable she started experiencing some diarrhea, one time, even vomiting all day. I just figured maybe it was irritating her stomach because I gave it to her a few days after giving her a heartgard. However, the last time she had a pill she was sick for a week vomiting, and uncontrollable, diarrhea. I’ll never use this product again however I’m skeptical to use any of the flea and tick formulas offered because I’ve read horrible reviews and I don’t want anything to happen to my girl Thankfully I don’t live in a highly tick infested area. I live in a city, so I’m debating if I’m even going to give her anything in the future.

Customer Service

The process was a little rocky to start as my Vet emailed me the Rx for Nexguard & when I ordered with Chewy was told I could notnprpcess with emailed Rx. That said Chewy efaxed to Wexford Vet who overlooked & did not do a thorough review because they sent.directly to me they ignored Chewys request. I had to point out to my vet their issue & then was contacted back by Chewy Rep who put me thru to pharmacy tech who expedited the order/contact with Wexford Vet. Your tech was friendly, patient and accomodating to ensure Chloe received her Nexguard promptly as she was out! Thanks again!!!

Amazing - he took and enjoyed

Finally a product I don't have to force down the throat of my American Eskimo 2 yr. old. It was easy to give, heart worm Sentinel very difficult. Will be changing to Heartguard for heartworms soon. Love Chewy, great products at good prices and free shipping & FAST shipping. I really appreciate how items are pkgd and shipped.

NexGard tablets received where not molded correctly! All three tablets had a 1/4” missing from each end of tablet. Now I’m thinking Chewy may be getting rejected product from their supplier! Could be reason for price cuts. Needless to say, I will not buy again!

Dogs hate it

Our 3 dogs won't eat these. They like the heartgard. NexGard I have to break up into pieces and coat in peanut butter or cheese and they still spit the pieces out so it take a lot of tries. The packaging is also harder to open. Other than that I guess it works and there haven't been any side affects.

Made my dog incredibly sick

I have my dog one chewable and she was incredibly sick for an entire week. She was lethargic, vomiting, and had diarrhea. I had to contact the vet and nexgard. Not worth the money.

Great product

These pills are expensive but definitely worth the money. Chewys price is lower than our vets price and I love the auto delivery convenience. No picking ticks off my dog because of this product.
