NexGard Soft Chew for Dogs, 24.1-60 lbs. are vet-recommended and FDA-approved to kill adult fleas fast before they have a chance to lay eggs. This product is also FDA-approved to help prevent Lyme infections as a direct result of killing black-legged ticks. Each fast-acting chew provides safe and effective protection, killing fleas and ticks for a full month. And the chews are easy to give because dogs love the delicious beef flavor—you may even give them to your dog with or without food! Each NexGard bite-sized monthly dose is gentle enough to give to puppies and dogs as young as 8 weeks, weighing as little as 4 pounds.
UsesNexGard (afoxolaner) contains afoxolaner which is absorbed into the bloodstream after ingestion. Do not use on cats.
Possible Side EffectsAfoxolaner is a member of the isoxazoline class. This class has been associated with neurologic adverse reactions including tremors, ataxia, and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs receiving isoxazoline class drugs, even in dogs without a history of seizures. Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders. The safe use of NexGard (afoxolaner) in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs has not been evaluated.
Drug & Food InteractionsIn a well-controlled field study, NexGard was used concomitantly with other medications, such as vaccines, anthelmintics, antibiotics (including topicals), steroids, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), anesthetics, and antihistamines. No adverse reactions were observed from the concomitant use of NexGard with other medications. For specific questions about your dog, we recommend that you consult with your veterinarian.

oral vs topical
By KBOscar on Apr 7, 2021
We recently adopted a little white poodle and had started frontline topical treatment. However the fleas and ticks in our area are so horrendous our little guy would be covered by the time we got back from the walk. Vet switched is too Nexgard chewable and it immediately worked and literally see the fleas jump off immediately if they even try. So much more effective.

Works great!
By JaxsonTimber on Mar 29, 2021
My vet recommended Nexgard when my dogs were just puppies. They’re 5yrs old now and neither one of them has EVER had a flea or tick & we spend a lot of time outside. Definitely recommend! And with the auto ship discount, I found that it’s cheaper for me to order through chewy than get the Nexgard directly for my vet.

First time using
By Terri on Apr 5, 2021
So this is the first time I’m using this. I wondered how he would react but he did very well with it. He seemed to itch the first couple days. Maybe he had a couple biters. However, he is doing great. No more itching. I’m very happy with this so far.

NexGard chews
By Terrbear on Apr 8, 2021
My very picky dog hesitated for 10 seconds before she ate this chew. I usually have to put meds in the back of her mouth. Relief. Seems to be working. hasn't had any ticks on her after running thru the woods which she loves to do.

Nexgard Soft Chew 3 month supply
By Maggiesnexgard on Mar 1, 2021
I ordered Nexgard Soft Chew (purple box), 3 month supply, for my 7 month Corgi. So easy to order, especially when we had repeated snow storms and ice. Product was delivered, to my front door in two days. This item is generally around the same price wherever it is sold...the difference is...I had a $15 off coupon from Chewy, plus, the delivery was a big bonus!

By Brn1 on Mar 9, 2021
I have ordered from chewy when I have the money to get the things I can’t get at stores in town here. Have also given my dogs nexgard for fleas as it’s the thing they have liked best. They have never done me wrong and will always give this site 5 stars.

Fantastic Alternative To Topical
By buoyncollin on Feb 8, 2021
Starting using two years ago after concern over certain topicals and their effects on certain dogs. Has worked great on my dogs as flea/tick prevention, not to mention some other buggy critters found in my grassy and marshy area. My dogs have not shown any side effects and love to eat the chewable. They consider it a special treat.
