Description

Who says learning can't be fun? With the Dog Smart Interactive Dog Toy, you can stimulate your pup's brain and have a blast at the same time! This entry-level dog puzzle challenges your dog to uncover treats through problem-solving, while also helping them to develop new learning techniques. You can even switch it up! The bones in this puzzle toy can be arranged to be flush with the board or elevated for different challenge levels. When the bones are flat against the board, your dog will learn to paw and nuzzle at the pieces differently than when the bones are elevated and more easily removable. Plus, it's also paw-fect for treating and feeding your dog’s dry kibble!

Key Benefits
  • Stimulate your pup's brain and have fun with him at the same time.
  • Entry-level dog puzzle challenges your dog to uncover treats through problem-solving.
  • Help him to develop new learning techniques by switching the board to different difficulty levels.
  • Arrange the bones to be flat against the board or elevated for different challenge levels.
  • Excellent for training, plus great for feeding your pup his dry kibble at dinner.

Every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

Instructions

How to Play: Place treats or kibble in compartments of base. Cover treat compartments with bones. The more compartments that are covered, the harder the game will be. Let the games begin! Show your dog where the treats are and watch them find the tasty reward! Dogs are smarter than you think. Sometimes we just need to teach them! Leave some compartments uncovered for your dog to gain interest.

Easy to Clean: To wash your dog’s Dog Smart, simply remove all treats/kibble and hand wash with warm soapy water, rinse clean and dry. Fill again for more fun!

    Outward Hound Puzzle Toy

    By on

I think the Nina Ottosson Outward Hound Dog Smart Interactive Dog Toy is a great toy in general, so 5-stars! That said, for my MinPin, who flinches at loud noises, the hard plastic is too loud for her. She doesn't like the clackity sound of the pieces and the tray so she hesitates moving the pieces. Her mouth is too small to pick up the large pieces, but she tries to nose it a little and maybe will use her paws. I'll work on desensitizing her, but she is 12 years so I may not be too successful. For now, I use it a few times a week, and I alternate the bone cups: some turned upside-down, some turned sideways, to lower her stress level. Pups love it

I have a 4 year old chihuahua/min pin mix and a 4 month old lab/chihuahua mix and they both LOVE this toy. They mostly use their paws to remove the bones but have tried using their teeth a few times. They both get super excited whenever I bring this out!

    Fun but too easy!

My Staffy is food motivated so it did not take long for her to figure this out. I will add peanut butter to give her a bit more work with each cup. Sturdy. Good price. Nice play value overall.

    Fun for a short time

This puzzle still makes my 5 month old puppy excited when I bring it out but she was able to figure it out in about 30 seconds. A downside, the plastic bones once pulled off are too tempting for my chewer.

    Puzzles for dog

    By on

It is a good heavy toy. Unfortunately my German shepherd is more into taking the bones and chewing them up instead of taking the treats. I must supervise her when she uses it. The box came opened and sloppily re taped and crushed. It was also delayed by 2 days. Fortunately the toy survived but I would not recommend sending anything fed ex!

    She loves it

Got this for my blind dog to keep her busy while I’m at work. When I get home she has toned all the bones and found her treats. I love it!

My dog is starting to get the hang of this toy. I put different treats in each bone to see what ones she goes for more.

    Great beginner toy

    By on

This was the first brain toy I purchased for my Australian cattle dog. There are a few tips on paper inside the box which tell you how to make it more challenging; such as turning the bones so the larger part is in front. The white bones also fit another Nina ottosson dog puzzle I have. I always sit on the floor with my dog when she does puzzles and this one looks like it is brand new after many uses. If I left her alone with it, she might attempt to chew on the pieces. It is a sturdy toy compared to many.

    Makes him work for it

    By on

My five-year-old border collie is one smart cookie already but this game really makes him work for his cookies . First he used his nose to flip over the plastic bones then he used his paw to flip them. This is a great toy especially for a young pup but my adult guy had just as much fun.

    Bonding Time

    By on

I was looking for something to channel my dogs energy and keep him more focused. We play with the puzzle several times a week. I change the treats often and that seems to keep the boredom down. Great idea for bonding!
