Learn More About Nina Ottosson From Our Team of Experts
Did you know that 15 minutes of mental exercise can have a similar effect on your dog’s emotional well-being as 30 minutes of physical exercise? Dogs love to explore and problem solve and will use their noses and paws as tools. Each Nina Ottoson puzzle toy game is designed with your dog’s natural behaviors, senses and safety in mind.
Reduce Unwanted Behaviors
Setting your dog to work on a puzzle or game helps focus his attention and energy. This mental redirection can help reduce boredom, anxiety and destructive behaviors, too. Try using puzzle toys to distract your dog from fireworks, thunderstorms and other stressful situations.
Four Levels of Play
All dogs are different. That’s why each treat puzzle toy was designed with a different level of difficulty—to please dogs of all skill levels, whether they are beginners or puzzle-solving pros. Start by choosing a level that suits your pup’s skill set and level up as he learns!
Level 1
Perfect for beginners, these puzzles help gain interest and prepare dogs for puzzles to come.
Level 2
Features added obstacles, requiring your dog to combine actions to retrieve each tasty reward.
Level 3
These advanced puzzles challenge your dog to complete several steps in order to reach the hidden treats.
Level 4
This is the hardest level and requires multiple steps and problem-solving skills to solve!
For Bonding and Training
Nina Ottosson puzzle games are a great way to build your relationship with a newly adopted dog or help a shy dog come out of his shell. You can also use puzzles to help train your dog and practice basic commands like “sit” and “stay”.

My high energy dog recently had TPLO surgery and I wanted something to stimulate her and keep her occupied. This is her first puzzle toy and she completed the puzzle in less than 2 minutes on her first try. I was a little surprised how quickly she did it, I thought it would be more challenging. It’s been about 2 weeks since my purchase and she loves it! Every day she gets a small portion of her meals in the puzzle and seems excited for it.
Looks well made and so far it seems pretty durable. Pretty stable and does not slide around while she tries to get the pieces out. Pieces move really smoothly. A little annoying to clean though.

Second Puzzle we tried
The first puzzle we tried had little pods that the pet had to manipulate in order to slide them off the board, and then eat the treat inside. With this puzzle, the pet has to scoop up the treats from the board as they discover them. That means the board gets licked all over the place and it has to be washed each time you use it. It's not as convenient. It's a Level 2 and our dog mastered it after two uses. We bought a third puzzle soon after. We think they're great for mental stimulation and entertainment. Our dog gets super excited whenever she sees us preparing a puzzle.

Very easy to use!
This toy is quite easy to use for dogs (and their adult!). Is a great beginner level puzzle, and the slots for the treats are large enough for even the bigger-sized kibble. Easy to wash, and it remains stable on the ground. Two different "levels" of challenge make it more versatile. A keeper!

my older dog loves it
I just learned about enrichment toys and things, and bought this for my 9 year old Jack Russell. It’s his first puzzle and by day 3 he was already tilting his head at the word “puzzle”, he loves doing it. It has been fun for me to watch him figure out how it works, and even though he has it mostly figured out, I still see his gears turning, trying to figure out if there’s an even faster way to get his treats. He is so happy when it is puzzle time, and that makes me so happy too.

excellent puzzle for my puppy
I have a new puppy (4 months) and I needed something to occassionally keep him occupied. This toy is very popular with him (multiple actions to get multiple rewards). I like it because it does not come apart and fall into pieces. The puppy has gotten very good at working the puzzle and sliding the pieces around. Well worth the $.

great starter toy for Aussie
Recently adopted a 3 yr old Australian Shepherd mix from a local shelter. At first, she didn't show any interest, but then quickly caught on. As others have said, yes, it is a fairly easy puzzle. That doesn't mean a dog won't keep enjoying it. At least mine doesn't and it keeps her mind active. Treats that fit well - Old Mother Hubbard training bits, Old Mother Hubbard minis broken in half, and Cheerios.

Highly recommend
My dog loves this and has played with this more than other interactive toys I've bought. It is good for scent training and good enrichment for her.

Seriously!!!!
Not sure if this toy was previously used and returned but all slides are extremely loose so absolutely no challenge. Just blow on the toy and the doors open. Very dissapointed.

Not worth my money
I purchased two of these. I have two Saint Bernards and thought I would give them some mental fun. One is 7 months old and the other 18 months old. They both solved this in about 30 seconds. I tried making them harder by the suggestions; nope. About 30 seconds still. A waste of my money; perhaps better for a different breed. I will have to donate them.

GREAT CHALLENGE
Pepper loves this puzzle. At first she was alittle hesitant but now she loves it. The best part is that I can make is easy or difficult. Best puzzle ever!
