Good product so far! My 2 month old Corgi (Emrys) loves this. But she also LOVES to chew on everything. So I definitely recommend monitoring your puppies play time with this toy, as once it's chewed up it's no good and there's a chance your pup may ingest plastic. So 5 stars as it perfect enrichment, -1 because destructive puppies can easily chew it up and end up with possible plastic foreign bodies.
Shame on me. As I look at the picture, I can see now that those white bones are NOT attached, so they just flip off. My dog would eat them. I was hoping for something I could give him that was unsupervised, but this isn't it. I'll be donating it to the local Humane Society.
My 11 week old puppy has already mastered this in less than a week. Either this is too easy or he is absurdly smart and I'm in for a lot of trouble... After 5 days with this my 11 week old puppy can complete it in less than 5 minutes. His favorite part is actually just getting all the bone covers off and batting them around and chewing on them.
We’ve had this puzzle for many many years, it’s level 1 out of the series so of course it might be too easy for some dogs. It works great as a starter puzzle, it’s too easy for our oldest dog but perfect for our middle. The youngest dog is still afraid of it so we’re working on it with her lol. But our oldest has grabbed the bones even and tried to chew them. After feeding we simply pick up the bones and put it back in it’s place. That solves the dogs chewing on the bones or the base. If your dog chews a lot on random things just make sure to leave it out of reach. We love Nina Ottoson puzzles!
Great introductory starter game! My aussie is a smart pup and figured out this game pretty quickly and has now progressed to just flipping the board as that is the quickest way to get his goodies! If you have a smart dog they will progress past this level 1 toy pretty quickly.
I bought this for my very food-motivated blind, deaf senior rescue Doxle and he loves it! It’s been difficult to find activities that stimulate him and keep him active since he can barely see or hear and was not leash trained by his previous owner, but I highly recommend this :-). We’ll definitely be buying more interactive toys from Outward Hound.
I’m always looking for new enrichment ideas so when I found this one, I knew I had to get it. I have been using this for meals to make my small dogs work for their food. They have so much fun with it and love it! It’s super easy to clean as well which is a huge plus.
Well made, easy to set-up, dogs enjoyed it. Our three dogs each reacted to this puzzle toy differently. Boxer/Brittany figured it out right away, more timid Pit-mix took two sessions, but she isn't as food motivated. Small terrier-mix had trouble getting his mouth around the cubes and thought it was too much work. For a dog with a small mouth, try tying a shoe lace in the top hole for them to grip. We plan to purchase another puzzle with the next level of difficulty.
I bought 3 different levels because I was worried this would be too easy, and/or it would just get flipped over quickly. My 8 week Brittany enjoys it and is getting faster. I am worried it is encouraging him to scratch instead of use his nose. As others noted, remove the white pieces as soon as the flip them!
This was the first puzzle I bought for my pup, when he was just 2 months old. He is now 8 months old. We still use it as reinforcement, and it's like playing an interactive board game for us. Great durable product.
