Had High Hopes
I had high hopes that this would stop my crazy barking labs from going nuts and deaf to my voice when someone walks by or anytime they see or hear something they do not know. My 4 year old lab kind of gets it, but not enough to make her quit. My 1.5 year old male lab is dopey. He doesn't seem to be phased by the buzzing or make a connection between why he is being beeped or buzzed. I think he is a thrill junkie and actually enjoys wear this collar. He gets excited when I put it on him in the morning. lol.. Fail for these two labs. The construction is decent. Th pegs are easy to change, but one doesn't tighten completely. The cap cover in the center kept popping off when they would scratch at their neck, so I super glued it on the tabs to keep it on.
Works pretty well!
It’s great that there are a couple of “warning” beeps, then the vibration to get their attention. It worked almost immediately. We did need to lower the intensity, because our other barker (who’s getting one in a day or so) would set it off if she was too close. But after using just a day, hearing the ‘beep’ of the power button gets her attention.
She is a yapper
Sadly I can't use this collar on Mocha. Mocha will be 3 yrs. old on July 3rd. She is full grown and only weighs 4 1/2 pounds. I use a cat collar on her. Mocha's neck is only 8 inches around. I made the collar as small as I could but it was still too big. Plus the instructions say the weight minimum is 8 pounds I can't recommend this item because I can't use it.
Worked for our noisy Chihuahua
Worked amazingly for our 5 lb Chihuahua that barks for EVERYTHING! He learned on level 1 (1.5 second sound). Love that it has 8 stages although we have yet to go before 1. On a side note, because he is so small, I had to pop the front of the collar off to make a it smaller. Also, when our rottweiler barks, if standing close to the Chihuahua, it sometimes causes the caller to beep.
Works for a very short time
I had high hopes for this collar. The first couple uses, it worked quite well, but by the fourth use , my dog seemed pretty unfazed by it and barked along with the beeps and vibrations. I may see if I can return it and go to the next level of something that pulses or a collar that uses a remote control.
Works great
Had this for several months and it has worked perfectly. My dog Roscoe is a big baby (80lbs 1 1/2 yrs old) and whines and howls when I'm gone but ever since using this he's been quiet. It works well!
Awesome no pain!!
This collar started working 1st day and hasn't caused any pain which I was worried about!! I hear the sound which doesn't happen often!! Like if he coughed or a small sound related to him only!! 1st day he barked and on 3rd time when it vibrates he just looked to ground to see what it was... love it as I'm very careful about my pets and don't want any discomfort in anyway for them!! Thank you!!!
Took a chance and glad I did
After only one day of use, our beagle and our big-eared whatever have stopped losing their entire minds whenever we come home, walk up the stairs, come out of our bedroom, stand up, etc. The beeps confuse them and seems to short-circuit the barking long enough for them to get control of themselves, and if they bark a couple more times the vibration offers correction without hurting them. I had the most peaceful arrival home from work tonight that I’ve had in months!
Perfect for my needs
Perfect for my needs. The beep, then vibrate feature totally detoured my 20lb cocker from barking both inside the house and out. Even without her collar now she only gives a little growl sound under her breath. The crazy barking frenzies are over.
Pleasantly surprised
Our dog has a very loud deep bark and he was barking at all hours. Living in an apartment, we were worried about neighbors complaining. This collar solved his issues immediately and humanely. The rechargeable feature is also nice, we never have to worry about replacing batteries.
