Description

Green by Northmate is a specially designed feeder, shaped like a tuft of grass, that turns your dog’s meal into a challenging game. The desired amount of dog food is scattered across Green, and it is up to your dog to push the food out between the many blades of grass. Green by Northmate prolongs eating time significantly and reduces the risk of gulping and bloat. The result is a happier and healthier dog.

    Attention getter

    By on

I bought this item after a vet recommended a slow feeder. My poodle mix rescue, who is full of anxiety, has really plumped up due to medication she takes. I hoped this would slow her down enough for her to get full and eat less. Well, she still eats everything but this feeder keeps her attention and she no longer stops eating at every distraction. She has stopped leaving her food bowl to go to another room to try to steal my other dog's food. Now, when she sees this come out, she knows that her food is coming and she knows where she will be eating. It is well worth the cost of the feeder to keep her engaged so my other dog can eat in peace. This thing is amazing

    By on

We had to stop our 8 month old corgi from inhaling his food in seconds. This was the stop he needed. It takes him easily 10-15 minutes to eat a cup of food. I got the large one because he gets large portions of food and I was afraid that the small would be too small. It’s perfect for him. After about 3 days he gave up on trying to eat fast and has started to calmly eat his food. Love it!

    Great bang for your buck

My lab mix loves to eat very quickly and then pester her lab sister for more food. This made it hard, as I liked to leave for work while they were eating, it really seemed to stress them out less. But that wasn't possible with the one snagging all the food after I had left. I bought this feeder, and now the older, slower eating dog can finish her larger meal before the young whipper snapper! It also seems to be a great game for the quick eater, and I have noticed a huge improvement of her separation anxiety. This has been a great addition to my dog's life as well as mine. She has a longer snout and is easily able to get food off to the side to eat.

    Works like a charm!

    By on

This is not our first slow feeder, but it is by far the best. Our GSP/Dachshund mix loves his food so he gobbles it and barfs it almost immediately. We tried the swirled kind which helped somewhat, but every few days he’d still manage to gobble. Enter this feeder. At first I feared that he would think it was a toy and walk around with it in his mouth, inevitably destroy it and we’d be on to the next. Not so! It is heavy enough that it stays stable and he gives it the respect it deserves. We have the mini which is plenty big- I can’t imagine how huge the regular one is. And it takes him forever to eat, (comparatively)! Would give it 10 stars if I could.

    Dog feeder

    By on

This is one amazing feeder! Our senior beagle mix was wolfing down his meals in 20 seconds flat then trying to eat our other dogs meal and the cats! But now it takes him 15-20 minutes to finish. Everyone is happier.

If you have a smart pup - it wont work

    By on

I was so excited to try this for my Lab that makes her self sick because she eats wayyyy to fast. I put it down with food in it and she just looked at me and it and got frustrated then grabbed it by one of the bumps and flipped it over. Im sad it didnt work for us, but love chewy's customer service!

    Would recommend

    By on

My 2-year-old Corgi was eating her food in 15-20 seconds in her regular dog bowl. I got this and now it takes her 15 MINUTES to eat her food. It has a very strong, rugged design and it also makes her think about the best way to get her food. Highly recommended!

    “Mini” I don’t think so!

    By on

This was the smallest option and it’s “prongs” are too long for my 10lb MinPin to use. And it’s really big in diameter too. Definitely not. Mini enough

    Definitely slows the gobbling down

    By on

This is pricier than other feeders, but it does the best job of slowing my golden retriever puppy down from inhaling his food. The first time this was introduced it took him about 30 minutes to finish his meal. After about 10+ feedings, he's gotten the time down to around 20 minutes which is still longer than other popular slow/interactive feeders I've tried (other feeds take around 5 minutes for my pup to gobble everything up). I don't think this is a must buy, but I do highly recommend it especially if you're looking for something to distract your pup for more than 5 minutes. I should add that my puppy does enjoy this feeder. Definitely helps!

My 7 month old lab uses this and it's sooo good! He was using the hardest Outward Hound bowl and he was still eating too fast. This takes him 15 minutes to eat!
