The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight. We suggest feeding twice a day. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, ten days and could take upwards of two weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change:

Day 1 & 2: Feed 80% of your pet’s old food with 20% of the new food.

Day 3 & 4: Feed 60% of your pet’s old food with 40% of the new food.

Day 5 & 6: Feed 40% of your pet’s old food with 60% of the new food.

Day 7, 8 & 9: Feed 20% of your pet’s old food with 80% of the new food.

Day 10 & Forever: Feed 100% new food

    So Far O.K....

    By on

I have a 7 year old chocolate lab, he was on Wellness brand white fish & sweet potato. He had allergies and his coat was not looking as good as it should. I have been slowly converting him over to the NOW brand. Doing a 1/2 & 1/2 mix until I gradually phase out the Wellness all together. He seems to tolerate the food ok. No stomach issues so far. His skin on his belly is looking much better, the allergies seem to have calmed down and his coat is getting much softer & shinier. My only concern with this is (being this is a "senior" formula) is the size of the kibble. Sometimes my dog seems like he is having a little difficulty with it. He does always finish his bowl, but I don't like to see him I have a 7 year old chocolate lab, he was on Wellness brand white fish & sweet potato. NOW Sr. Weight Management Receipe Dry

    By on

I bought this for my 100 lb lab/mix and he did not eat it. I tried all different ways to get him to eat this by adding cooked chicken, turkey and bone broth. Do not know if it is the size if the food or the taste, but I have been stuck with over a half bag of this expensive food and wish I had bought it at a place that I could have returned it or exchanged. I enjoy ordering from Chewy but this was very disappointing to have this much unused food sitting in my kitchen. My little dog did not like the NOW for small breeds. It is also sitting half empty. I have since order Zignature from you and the eat this better.

    Senior English Mastiff Likes It!

    By on

I was looking for something my Mastiff would eat that would be better for him than his last food. He eats it right up, so I’m hoping he’s not allergic to it. I think it’s too soon to tell! I love the size of the kibbles! Perfect for my 150 pound baby! I chose this because of the ingredient list! It’s also one of few foods for seniors that doesn’t have chicken, which I suspect he may be allergic to. He’s still licking his paws excessively, but fingers crossed that it’s not an allergy, because I’d like to buy this again!

    Low protein and grain free

    By on

My dog has pancreatitis I thought I was going to have to give her food with grains in order to lower her protein. I found this dog food and it has been the best food to keep her stool consistent and she also loves this dog food!

    Great food

NOW is very good food for your dogs, however it is less expensive when I buy it from my local groomer!!! I have no experience with the costs of other Chewy's products.

This a healthy dog food. I get the large breed size for seniors. I use them as treats for my little Shih Tzu. They love them and I don't feel bad about giving. Them treats.

    All around great

Love the grain free. Helps control my lab's allergies. Also love that the pellets aren't too small- she actually has to slow down her intake to chew and eat! She has maintained a good weight now for over a year!

    Awesome

    By on

I love the large size pieces of food - it slows down his eating process. Normally he inhales his food, he has to chew these pieces. He likes it, and it seems to work well. I think we finally found a food we can continue to buy for him.
