We suggest feeding twice a day. Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, ten days and could take upwards of two weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change:
Day 1 & 2: Feed 80% of your pet’s old food with 20% of the new food.
Day 3 & 4: Feed 60% of your pet’s old food with 40% of the new food.
Day 5 & 6: Feed 40% of your pet’s old food with 60% of the new food.
Day 7, 8 & 9: Feed 20% of your pet’s old food with 80% of the new food.
Day 10 & Forever: Feed 100% new food
It’s so hard to find foods that all the fur kids will like and that agrees with them. I tested this food when a friend found it for her cat. Mine like it. It’s a tiny kibble shape. I also feed canned food twice a day so this is available as a supplementary option.
The cat I bought it for, Spot, did not care for it. He will grudgingly eat some if I mix it with something else. He is a very sensitive cat and I have been trying to find a food that will work for him. He pulls the hair off his belly. Two vets later, problem still not solved, even with Rx food. I have been trying him on different foods on my own. Some work better than others but problem not completely eliminated. One of my other cats, Shorty, will eat this, so I guess I will give it to her mixing a little in with her regular food. The other cats, Mama will not eat, and Oreo will only eat some of it if he is in the mood. Too bad, because this seems like a very good product but I do have a finicky bunch.
Found this promising for my older cat who just became a qualified senior, however it has made him sick with every meal! Very sad indeed. Had to be donated.
My cat isn't the pickiest, but he wouldn't go near this. I did everything I could (cat nip, wet food, broth, etc) to get him to eat this, but he steadfastedly avoided it. Truth be told, when I opened the bag it smelled like dirt, which I imagine was unappealing to him as well. I have no doubt of the quality and nutrition but it was like getting a toddler to eat broccoli - it just wasn't gonna happen.
It is very hard to find low phosphorus levels in dry and wet cat food that isn't full of unhealthy ingredients. Very important for kidney issues and to prevent issues, especially in adult cats. I have done my own research and this was one for dry food and my cat likes it!
We are trying a new hard cat food...Now Fresh is tasty and nutritional... We are still trying the food, and it's benefits...
my older cat, has stomach issues. He is able to eat this dry food,, and it has helped so much. Yes it is expensive,, but my cat has shown much improvement, his coat is shinny, and his eyes bright,, he defiently feels better... he is a happy senior cat.
I tried this food because one of my cats was just diagnosed with kidney disease and we are attempting to change her diet. None of the cats will even touch it.
I am always please with Chewy.. Outstanding delivery, and products I can trust
I normally do not do this, but I am going to write this review. This food has really changed my cats' lives for the better. I have (2) cats that are 13 years old and approaching 14. They used to regurgitate their old cat food (which is a very expensive well known brand that is supposed to cater to sensitive stomachs and senior cats) and I would have around 7-8 piles to clean up a week and this has been an issue for years. I used to think that this was part of my cats getting older. I can tell you I been using this for 2-3 weeks now and I have not cleaned up a single pile. This food is very small and easy for them to digest. My cats are very active and their coats are very shiny and soft now. After having my cats for as many years that I have, I can tell that they are a lot happier and I can tell a change in litter box. Even the stool is fuller and not super dry and hard which I am assuming is helping the cat go to the bathroom. I will for sure continue to purchase this food until there is not a need to purchase cat food anymore.
