Description

NRG Optimum Chicken & Veggies Large Breed Dehydrated Dog Food uses ingredients that recall a time when working dogs ate food prepared in the family kitchen. Crafted with both cooked and raw dehydrated free-range chicken along with fresh fruits and vegetables, NRG Optimum is recommended for large breeds, canine athletes and dogs that are new to all-natural feeding. The mix of vegetable and oat fiber soothes the intestinal tract of dogs whose size or activity dictates that their bowl must be filled to the brim.

Feeding Instructions

Dehydration essentially preserves the enzymes in whole food by removing the moisture to slow their activity. To prepare dehydrated foods for consumption, water is simply added back to the food. For every cup of dry food measured add 1/2 - 3/4 cup of warm water. Mix well and allow to refresh for 20 - 30 minutes before serving. For more complete digestion and smaller stools, split the ration into 2 feedings, morning and evening, refrigerate leftovers.

For every 20 lbs your dog weighs feed approximately 1 cup of NRG dry measures. Dogs, just like people may require more or less than the suggested serving depending on activity level and age.

Transition Instructions

When switching your dog’s diet, we recommend that it be done gradually over a 5 – 7 day period.

    My dogs approve

    By on

I have five dogs, two whippets and three Boston Terriers (one is a 12 week old puppy). I have all five of my dogs on this food and they love it, even my pick eater. I make it the night before and leave it in the refrigerator so it is ready to go in the morning and it works great. My dogs had no issues transition from a delivered premade lightly cook food and my puppy transitioned from Science Diet. They also seem fuller on this than they did on then their previous food, which they always acted like it was dinner time about 4 hours after feeding them. I love the fact that it does not contain any synthetic vitamins and that it is human grade. My Doggo Won't Eat It

    By on

I had previously fed my dog a raw food diet of frozen raw. I wanted something simpler that didn't need thawing. My dog won't eat this, unfortunately, even after I add some mix ins to make it more appetizing. When I wet the food, it smells like pumpkin and oats, like a bread mixture. It doesn't smell anything like food with raw meat, and I also can't see any signs of raw meat. It looks like colorful doggie oatmeal. I'm sure your pet would scarf this down if they were upgrading from kibble, but after feeding my dog real, ground raw meat, she won't eat this. Wish I would have bought the small box to try it out before spending big bucks on a huge box.

My dogs enjoyed this food very much.

This food re hydrates into whole food pieces. You can serve it after about 10 minutes but I found it was best left to hydrate overnight. Appears to be a nice product that I will continue to buy.
