Every puppy is a little different, so the ideal feeding amount may vary with age, size and activity level. Please use the information below as a starting guideline only and adjust as required. Ask your veterinarian if you’re unsure. Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water and hugs.
Puppies may require up to twice the amounts shown, and nursing/pregnant mothers up to 3 times the amounts shown.
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
I specifically selected this dog food after spending hours researching best food for dogs with yeast, stomach and skin issues. I added one half cup a day to both dogs’ current food, and my two year old Great Dane immediately had watery diarrhea. The nine month old tolerated the food but didn’t seem to like it; I put my two year old on a boiled turkey bland diet, and stopped feeding him the Nulo. Meanwhile, I continued to transition the nine month old. Now that the nine month old is almost transitioned to Nulo, he has soft unformed stools. Both dogs had been on a high quality kibble (Victor), same protein as Nulo. Unfortunately, this food isn’t a good fit for my two boys.
My dogs have been eating Nulo for about 2 years now and they love it! One on my dog was always super picky but also has allergies. My other one had a sensitive stomach. Both have had no issues since switching to Nulo. It’s a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it.
This food gave our girl an upset stomach and messy stool. Tried transitioning it for two weeks and had to change
With the higher fiber content and probiotics I really wanted to love this food for my Coton but unfortunately it caused him to vomit during the night. I was skeptical that his vomiting was caused by this food, however, that proved to be the case. Disappointed it was not a good choice for him.
I have a five month old great Dane puppy and she would eat this grudgingly. If I mixed another dry dog food with it on the side, cuttting the bowl in half basically, she would always eat the other dog food over this one and would wait to see if she could get more of the other one before finishing this. I won’t buy this one again.
My Sheltie has food allergies and can’t eat foods with chicken, rice, or peas, which so many foods have. After trying many different specialty foods, which my dog wouldn’t eat, I discovered Nulo Limited with Salmon. My dog loves it and he’s not scratching or losing fur like he had been. Highly recommend.
Switching over to this brand dog had no problems n loves it
My dog has 6 pages long of allergies, including food. Nulo is the only brand that is free of chicken and pea fillers. Wish the cost was more friendly. But since it is what my dog can eat, I'll be eating Ramen noodles every month. Love their stuff and grateful for a great food for him to eat and enjoy.
My 2 Labradoodles’s love there new food. We have had some skin issues and they seem to be getting better after switching food. Time will tell but after just 2 week so much better. Another doodle friend said she had the same experience so I thought it was worth trying it.
I received the Nulo food today. When I opened the bag, the kibble smell good, with a good appearance. My 2 Sharpei dogs came and seems to like it! During the next couple of weeks, I will keep an eye on their transition to this new food (He was on Nutro Lamb was good for them, but not enough protein, just 20%). Nulo Grain-Free Salmon & Sweet Potatoes are perfect for both, a puppy & an adult Sharpei.
