When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
Our cats love this brand of food so I got this for our small dog. She is a good eater and hardly ever refuses food. However, this was not a hit. She finally ate some and immediately got a belly ache and soft stool which has never happened when offering new foods in the past.
Suddenly have a picky eater in a very senior dog so tried adding this to her dry food kibble. Looks like people food, shredded chicken and tuna etc. she loved it but was still able to eat it around and leave most of the kibble. Def recommend if you have picky pups. Trying to keep her with high protein to preserve muscle and keep her healthy. It is $$$ but worth it if you have finicky feeders.
I absolutely love this food because my dog loves it, she thinks it's a treat instead of a meal !!
My dog Looey is a picky eater, we never buy the same bag of food twice. Sometimes he will not continue to eat the same food for more than a month, but he has been enjoying Nulo for over a month now.
I am in the process of switching dry food for my four year old Havanese who had always eaten a different dry food. It's been difficult to find the old food so I've been gradually switching him over to Nulo. So far he seems to like it more than the old food. This is a brand that I've fed to my last dog who thrived on it and he lived to 17 years old!
My dog has had a real liking to this food :). She’s a tiny poodle mix and has a lot of health and allergy problems. My family has to be very selective of the food we buy for her and hope that it’s tasty enough to eat . She’s been really happy to switch over from salmon food to turkey . She gladly eats it :)
Oh how disappointed I am to buy this food for my chihuahua, but he just will not touch it. I mix it in with wet food and he spits out every one. I am sure it is a quality product, and Chewy is wonderful to purchase from, but sad to waste money on food like this. Our local shelters will not take open bags. But Nulo is a very good brand. It's my picky dog.....
My picky eater seems to really like this food. Also, I initially ordered the wrong size kibble, but with the help of a great Customer Service crew, the right bag was sent, a refund enacted and I was able to donate the incorrect food to a local rescue. Thank you, Chewy!
We have a Rat-Chi who is almost 3 and feeding her has been a challenge at times because she has such a small mouth and was born with missing teeth. This food is tiny enough for her to chew and it helps clean her teeth as well. We mix it with fresh cooked chicken and he plate is empty. Happy little girl!
I've been on a search for a food that my two totally different dogs could both eat. Had to be lower protein for my pug, get good reviews by dog food advisor and be all stages so my two year old and nine month could eat the same food. Nulo fit the bill and I went with it despite the cost. If they had eaten it, I would probably have put up with the cost as long as I could. But they turned their noses up so the search continues. Trying Diamond Naturals now and so far so good.
