Transition Instructions
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
These protein-rich diets have proteins from animal sources as the first 3-4 ingredients. Low-carb and low-glycemic ingredients provide stable energy levels, while the proprietary BC30 probiotic aids digestive and immune health. Plus, they’re made without pea protein, white potatoes, corn, tapioca, wheat or soy.
Raising the Bar on What’s in Their Bowl
From their careful selection of ingredients—like protein-rich turkey, lamb, salmon, chicken, beef and duck—to low-glycemic carb source choices like lentils, chickpeas, barley, oat, millet and sweet potatoes, Nulo approaches pet food the way they approach everything—no shortcuts allowed.

What is the Phosphorus percentage on a dry matter basis? I saw two different answers below. I’m confused.
Why is canola oil used when the latest research points to it being pro-inflammatory, and not a healthy oil?
Answer by • Nov 27, 2019
Canola oil provides a blend of omega fatty acids for optimal skin and coat health. Canola oil also contains alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid, and is a source of vitamin E.
I started purchasing this cat food because my previous cat food kept going on backorder. My cat has always had a slightly sensitive stomach, so I didn't think too much of it when she vomited after I started feeding this food. Several weeks later, she was vomiting several times a day and had lost a lot of weight. I took her to the vet but they couldn't find anything wrong with her.
I decided to switch back to her old brand once it was in stock and the vomiting ceased almost immediately, so it was definitely something in this kibble that was upsetting her stomach. To verify it, I fed it to her once she had stopped vomiting for a while and sure enough, she vomited again after she ate it. It seems like a good quality kibble but I wouldn't recommend it if your cat has a sensitive stomach.

Good food for allergic cat
One of my cats is allergic to chicken, so it’s hard to find a healthy food that doesn’t have any chicken in it. He seems to be doing well on this food, but I can tell he would prefer to eat what the other cats are eating. He also has trouble with the tiny pieces. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such small kibble before.

We love it!
Loved by us, and more importantly our cat. I love the fact that meat is in the first 5 ingredients on the back of the bag, and seems to not have as much of the filler gunk that other dry cat food brands have. I've told everyone I know with cats if they're looking to switch to a good dry food-this is it! I will say, I wish they had a few more meat options that didn't have meat + fish of some sort though. But that's alright, Radish likes the Turkey & Duck anyways. :)

Kitten only
I have a 4 year old cat and a kitten and thought this would solve the problem of having to feed them two different foods. My kitten tolerates it, but my cat won't touch it. Too bad it doesn't work for my babies.

Picky kitten approved!
My “foster fail” was a picky eater and had been losing weight initially. I finally found food she’ll eat and now she’s growing strong.

Rescue cat adores this
Our latest cat had some tummy issues and the vet recommended this. The cat loves it and his tummy is now happy again.

We love this food
Both my 3 year old cat and 9 month old kitten love this food. Not only do I love that I can feed it to both but I noticed a decrease in hair balls. That’s a huge plus with a long hair cat. Their weight is well managed and their coats are beautiful. Also an added benefit is the resealable package. I know this isn’t normally a big selling point for most since most resealable packages suck. But this one is legit the best zipper packaging I have ever seen. Other manufacturers should take note. I hope they never change that.
