Transition Instructions
When first introducing your pet to Nulo, we recommend slowly transitioning over the course of 5 to 7 days to reduce the risk of digestive upset that can occur with a rapid change in diet. We recommend portioning 25% of the new food on the first day mixed with 75% of the former food. Over the course of several days, gradually increase this ratio until you are feeding 100% of the new food. This will allow your pet's digestive system time to adjust to any new ingredients and will help to ensure a smooth transition. Mixing up proteins can be a great way to provide variety to your pet's diet. Once your pet has transitioned to the Nulo platform, rotating between recipes is generally seamless!
Nulo’s Freestyle Cans will help ensure your dog stays fueled for the day ahead! Rich in high-quality proteins, with wholesome vegetables like sweet potatoes and carrots, these recipes deliver the nutrition your dog deserves and the taste he craves. Use Freestyle pates as your dog’s primary diet or as tasty toppers for Nulo dry kibble.
Raising the Bar on What’s in Their Bowl
From their careful selection of ingredients—like protein-rich turkey, lamb, salmon, chicken, beef and duck—to low-glycemic carb source choices like lentils, chickpeas, barley, oat, millet and sweet potatoes, Nulo approaches pet food the way they approach everything: no shortcuts allowed.

Is nulo produced under high temperature?
Answer by • May 30, 2023
Nulo canned foods are made through the retort process at 230-275°F, using the same systems that cans for human foods go through. Nulo dry foods go through approximately 100-150 seconds at 160-220°F in a pre-conditioner, followed by 15-30 seconds at 195-265°F in the extruder barrel. All Nulo canned foods being produced today are made with exclusively BPA Non-Intent materials! This means that BPA is not being used in any part of the can system. Nulo 2.8oz, 3oz, and 5.5oz, cans are made from recyclable aluminum, and our 12.5oz and 13oz cans are made from recyclable steel.
on your Nulo freestyle turkey & sweet potato can food what is NATURAL FAVORINGS?
Answer by • Jan 04, 2022
The natural flavor is a plant-based ingredient derived from the locust bean. It is the concentrated flavor extracted from a blend of amino acids and reducing carbohydrates that provides a highly palatable roasted and savory flavor to the food. The process is very similar to sauteing an ingredient, then drying the juices into a concentrated powder.
This is giving my dog terrible gas and anxiety... Very strange. I wish I was able to buy only one can to try but that wasn't an option. Now all of this will go to waste.

Good product but dented cans are a problem
Both of my dogs love Nulo. I generally mix it with some of their dry food.
My only concern has been numerous dented cans in cases that have been delivered to me. This is not the first time, so this may not be a Nulo problem but a Chewy problem.

Excellent soft food option
Chi took to it after a few short days and could not be more excited for meal time. It has been easy on her digestive system and tasty.

No Itching
My pup loves it! He gobbles it down. I had bought another brand with chicken and found out he is allergic to chicken. Chewy is gracious! They refunded my money on the chicken. This new brand seems to be working. No scratching and no red infected ears. There is no better place to buy pet items.

Horrible food
The second day of feeding my dogs this food, and they are both having anal gland issues. I should have read the label more closely to see this has chickpeas as an ingredient , and considering their reaction I guarantee chickpeas are the main ingredient. Another boutique food that will only damage your pets health

love nulo!
Nulo is personally one of my favorite brands. Always real, limited ingredients for a fair price! My four dogs really enjoy this.
