Is there a difference between the chewable tablets and the soft tablets?
Answer by ChewySep 30, 2018
The primary difference between these Chews and the Nutramax Cosequin Maximum Strength (DS) Plus MSM Chewable Tablets Joint Health Supplement for Dogs is the MSM levels. These chews contain 400 milligrams while the tablets contain 250 milligrams.

What is the difference between dasequin and cosequin?
Answer by ChewyApr 28, 2020
The difference between the two products is a third ingredient in Dasuquin that makes the primary ingredients, glucosamine and chondroitin, more effective. That third ingredient is called ASU (which is avocado and soybean unsaphonifiables) which is much more effective in improving sore, stiff or degenerating joints.

Roxie loves them

Really seemed to make an immediate improvement. Roxie was limping and moving around slowly like she was in pain and stiff and sore. Started her on this Cosequin and within one day she was more perky and moving much better. She was even acting a lot more spunky. It replaced a morning "treat" she was getting at near the same per day cost. Treats were making her fat, Cosequin has helped her mobility.

Rottweiler and it her joint supplement

Our Vet recommended it as a change for our female 9 year old Rottweiler "Kitt",tried everything but she totally refuses to eat them. We wasted our money on them, I'll give them to the Vet, maybe another dog might like them. Going back to Kitts original supplement.

Treats and More

My new rescue dog loves them. She had surgery on her hips so I am making sure she gets her bone and hip supplement. They do have a fish smell but they they have fish oil. My girl takes her vitamin so it's all good. Soft and chewy.

Nutramax Chews Review

My veterinarian suggested Cosequin for my two 14 year old dogs. So I have been using this product. They won't eat it unless I put some peanut butter on top - but they have always been picky about food smells and taste. I don't notice a difference in them, but I feel better knowing that they are getting something to aid them.

My Vet Recommended

My vet recommended this as a preemptive treatment to keep all the joints lubricated in my little puppy who may have a genetic predisposition to disc rupturing. She is not super crazy about the taste but takes the treat ok.

Second bag dog wouldn't eat

First bag from last year, my dog would eat with no reprise. The most recent bag my dog will avoid even when hidden in food. Quality control must not be great because the chews are super hard and smell terrible.

Definitely not a hit

I have a very active 6 yr old Pit mix and thought these would be good to start at this point of his life. He ate them the first few days, but that was it. The idea of a treat was great, but they don't even smell good and so I think that is what made him turn his nose up. So as a volunteer in rescue, they were donated.

Works wonders

This product works wonders. One of my dogs Sasha developed a luxating patella at 19 month of age. The vet said we could either do a very expensive surgery at a specialist or we could try Cosequin. We decided to try this and after 2 weeks of being on it the issue was resolved. Sasha has now been on it for more than 3 years and has only had the luxating patella 1 or 2 times in that time. I got a lab as a puppy and pet her on this right away as a preventative since labs are known for joint issues. I can not say enough good things about Cosequin. My dogs all LOVE it. It does have a bit of a smell but that is fine. Chewy has it for half the price they sell it in the pet stores.

Daisy Loves Them!

My Daisy is a 12 year old Golden/Basset mix and my vet recommended the Cosequin with the omega 3's. After one week I can honestly tell she has a little more "get up and go" in her step. I can't wait until a month has passed to see the wonderful improvements. I don't want to give her an anti-inflammatory because of her liver numbers unless it is absolutely necessary! I'm a true believer in this product today!
