How soon have people noticed a different after using this product?
Answer by ChewySep 24, 2017
Since Cosequin is a supplement and provides nutrients to maintain your cat’s health, it works more gradually than drugs. Improvement using Cosequin can range from gradual to dramatic. Following the administration schedule on the label, we recommend an initial administration period of 4-6 weeks. Some cats may show an optimal response in a shorter period of time. The long-term maintenance level is one capsule every other day. Administration may be increased at any time depending on your cat's needs.

What is the difference between Dasuquin and Cosequin? They are both for joint health but say they are also recommended for bladder issues. A previous vet gave my cat Dasuquin, but my new vet (tech) had no idea there was a Dasuquin for cats and thought I must be talking about Cosequin.
Answer by ChewyOct 19, 2018
The difference between Dasuquin and Cosequin is that Dasuquin also contains ASU, which is an additional ingredient to prevent cartilage erosion.

Can you give the capsule directly to kitty? I doubt my cat would eat her food if she suspected I put something in there?
Answer by ChewyJul 03, 2017
It's recommended to sprinkle the capsule on your cats food.

I have 2 15-year olds and 2 6-year olds. They all "graze" from the same bowls. Will this have an adverse effect on the younger cats? Or "no worries"?
Answer by ChewyDec 21, 2020
The contents of the capsules may be given with a small amount of wet or moist food to ensure your cat eats the entire amount. We recommend consulting your veterinarian about your younger cats consuming this supplement.

14 year old cat enjoying again

My main coon is 14 years old and healthy but slowing down. He doesn’t like his rear touched. I think because his hips were sore. Therefore, I thought I would give this a try. Very much to my surprise, he has the zoomies again and back to playing with all his toys- and jumping on the counters at night. Knowing this is a no no. I’m happy I bought this. It was suggested and I’m thankful for the results. I hope I have many years left with him.

Too soon to tell.

My senior kitty has only been taking this for a little over a week and a half so can’t say just how good it is. However, he seems to like it and gobbles it right up. I have noticed that he does seem to walk easier at times, usually earlier in the day after he gets his dosage which is a blessing as far as I’m concerned. I’m sure it isn’t a cure all but if it helps him move around easier I’ll be very happy.

Turned back the clock for my cat

We have a ~11 year old cat who has always been on the bigger side. I started him on these supplements a few years back and it's made a world of a difference. I wish I got him started sooner! He has more energy, is in a better mood, and has started to lose weight because he became more active and playful. And I'm sure him losing weight also helps him feel better, be more active, and continue to lose weight. I would recommend these to anyone. We sprinkle a pill on his wet food once a day and the taste obviously doesn't bother him. He's not a picky eater but does have a very sensitive stomach (IBD) and these don't upset his stomach at all.

It really works!!

This really worked wonders for my senior cat that has horrible arthritis. It took a little longer than expected - over 2 months before I noticed the change. He went from a cat in pain that could barely walk three steps to a cat that can run again! Since this is a supplement, I feel good about giving it to him.

This helped my older cat

Our 14 year old cat has arthritis. We started giving him this on a daily basis and the improvement is very noticeable. He is playing with our other cats and jumping up better. It definitely helped.

Helped my cat stop licking!

Our cat was licking her legs raw and our vet diagnosed her with arthritis in her knees. She suggested putting this in her food to help with the pain and licking. It’s worked like a dream! We sprinkle two capsules over her wet food once a day and she’ll eat it no problem. She has noticeably more energy, enjoys playing again, and has stopped her licking almost entirely! The pictures are a before and after of 1 month on Cosequin. Will definitely be keeping her on this!

Definitely see a difference!!!

I have been using this supplement for my 5 year old cat who was declawed when I adopted her. I've been giving it to her for about a month now and I can definitely see a difference in her playfulness! She is using her paws much more and has been running around and jumping way more. She also lets me touch her paws and she stretches them out and uses her scratching post more than she used to (even though she doesn't have her claws). My cat is pretty picky about her food, but she doesn't even notice the powder. I just open the capsule and mix it in and she eats the whole thing, I was shocked!! I definitely recommend this product!!

openion of product

Have not used this product long enough to notice it's effect but am hopeful it will help her joints. Easy to put into food to hide that it's medication.
