Cosequin works great but these chews stink!

Been using Cosequin for about three years now for my 14--year-old poodle mix. Started with the capsules but since my dog doesn’t eat wet dog food every day I had to get creative to find food to mix the capsules in. I then switched to the wafers which were fine at first but they became very hard for her to eat with missing and old teeth. I started cutting them with a pill cutter but they are hard as rock and almost broke the pill cutter. Now I’m trying these and they STINK horribly. My dog who will eat just about anything won’t come near these. I mean they really stink - like a dirty fish tank. I’ll keep using Cosequin in some form as I know it works great but I’m very disappointed in these chews. I’m buying some dog food toppers hoping I can cover the taste and smell.

Try could help

About 60 years of dog ownership here.... dogs age, we can't stop it but we might improve their quality of life. In the last 20 years I've got more fanatical about keeping an eye on our dogs weight and activity levels. We started use the pill version of cosequin many years ago and I think it definitely improves mobility in older dogs or dogs with previous injuries. My German Shepherd Loki is coming up on 12 years old and is in very good shape for his age. He still loves to have tennis balls shot out in the yard for chasing. A month or so ago I noticed some stiffeness/carrying of one of his rear legs. I immediately put him on these chewables. I would say he is at least about 90% again in that leg.

Senior Supplements

I had been giving my dog older dog Phycox for years and loved it. Recently, my senior dog (almost 13) decided he no longer liked the way they tasted. He wouldn't even eat his food if I put it in the bowl. A Chewy representative recommended these and he eats them with gusto! They are comparable in price and supplement needs. Thanks for the reccomendation!

This stuff works!

I've had Sammy on Cosequin for years love the product, now that he has gotten older (14+ years) and has severe OA and two knee surgery's I elected to move him to Cosequin Senior Chews because of increased levels of MSM, additional Omega 3's and Yeast Extract (Source of Beta). The bonus was that it was a chew, Sammy has other supplements in chew form and takes them with no issue's and is a good eater breakfast, lunch and dinner. Why the 4 stars? the chew was not soft and crumbles if you break it apart, and when trying to give to Sammy, he sniffs it and turns away, I have to spread a little peanut butter around the chew for him to eat it. I will still give the chew to Sammy because Nutramax produces a fine product it work's and I trust them; I just think they need to do more research on this Senior Chew for taste and density.

Well worth the money!

I have a large (90 pound) dog that is approximately 14 1/2 years old. He has been having trouble getting around due to joint pain. He’s been doing much better since I’ve been giving him these supplements. He still walks slowly (he’s geriatric after all) but his pain level is greatly diminished. I wish I had started him on these sooner.

Only Cosequin

My beloved furbabies are getting older at 10 and 13. Since they're rescues, they could be even older. I've been giving them Cosequin with AHA for years; since they are definitely seniors now, I switched them to the Senior formula. They think it's a treat! So it's a win-win! Be aware that the dosage is different.

Works great

Started this a couple of months ago for my aging GSD. She has the typical back hip problems. The improvement takes at least 6 weeks on the higher dosage to really start to show up so be patient. My old girl is now living her best life again with much less pain and stiffness. Thanks Cosequin.

My senior dogs love these.

My two seniors love these. They seem to move around better. I'll definitely be ordering more. They're on Autoship.

Senior dog

At the recommendation of my dog's vet I started my new dog, 8-10 year old pit mix, it took a couple weeks but then started seeing less limping upon initially getting up.

Amazing Product

Our 8 yo Belgian Shepherd pulled his ACL a few months ago. He is on gabipenton for seizures. Some days he just did not feel like going outside, he just layed around all day. Within 3 days of giving him a loading dose of Senior Cosequin, he was ready to go outside. He jumps up, ears up and eyes bright...I am amazed how quickly it helped him. He continues to get better daily. This is our experience, but I DO recommend this product!!!
