Can I still give my cat her cosequin pills? Or would I have to pick one over the other?
Answer by ChewyJan 09, 2019
We recommend consulting a veterinarian before mixing supplements. Each pet is unique so we encourage you to seek professional guidance to select the best products along with their current health.

This supplement is grain-free. For a complete list of ingredients, click the “Nutritional Info” tab, next to the “Description” tab, just under the product photos.

My cat has allergy to fish. Is the fish oil in it going to give her an allergic reaction?
Answer by ChewyJan 12, 2018
The fish oil often times will not contain the fish allergen. However, we do recommend that you consult with a veterinarian to make sure this is the best fit for your cat and their current treatment plan.

Ben really likes this stuff, and it is helping him!

Ben is 15 years old and has what I would call advanced arthritis in his hips. He cannot flex his spine when stretching due to arthritis, and at night-time, I think his condition bothers him the most. My pet sitter, who is a vet tech at the animal hospital my vet works at, told me about Cosequin for kitties, so I ordered some, just one package, because Ben is a picky eater and I didn't know how this would affect him. He has really liked the taste of the Cosequin chewies, which are soft and seem easy for him to chew, and he doesn't meow loudly at night with what sounds like pain to me, since starting these. They aren't a panacea, but I think they are helping him.

My geriatric cat

These are soft but big so I cut in 1/2 & then 1/4's & put them in with her Blue Buffalo dry.She was hesitating jumping up in window & on bed after I bought a top entry litter box. I went back to the old front entry box & started giving her these & she is doing much better & playing more too!

Helps my cat A LOT

When we first got my cat, she had something wrong with her shoulder. The vets couldn’t do anything for her. We then started giving Cosequin hoping it would help her. For the past year, her shoulder and joint health has been phenomenal. Cosequin helped her regain strength in her shoulder and she’s the happiest cat ever.

answer to our dreams

My 17+ year old American shirt hair had been favoring his right front leg and paw, especially after jumping down off furniture and bathroom vanities. My vet recommended Dasuquin for Cats and we tried that but lately I couldn’t get him to eat his wet food with the powder mixed in. They may have changed something but I wasted so much food and was so frustrated. Then on Chewy’s site I found these soft chews and Harry comes running every morning. And they have the same content of that powder. Big win for me and what a happy kitty!!

Cat wasn't a fan

I gave these a three star because my boy, Buster, just wasn't a fan. I'm sure it is him though. He is too smart for his own good and even when mingled in with Temptations, he knew which one was Sus.

I'm sure it would work if...

I give a similar supplement to my dog, and he love it and is doing great on it. My cat, however, sniffs it and avoids it like the plague. She will NOT eat this treat at all. I've mixed it with other things, wet food, sweet stuff, doesn't matter...she won't touch it. So I have no idea if it is helpful or not. I've debated treating it like a pill, but it's kind-of big for that, and popping two supplements down her throat every morning, likely would cause problems eventually. Unfortunately, I bought two bags of this, based on how well it worked for the dog. So I have a bag I won't be able to use. Should've known. . .always remember it's for a cat. LOL I recommend if this is your first time trying it, just get one bag, because your cat may not eat it.

Great early treatment

I noticed Nugget (11yo tortie) was starting to miss jumps and was second guessing herself jumping up to even a chair, so I started an auto ship on these. They’ve helped IMMENSELY. She’s not missing jumps anymore, and she’s much more confident on the jumps she is making. Unfortunately, she’s been getting up on the counter now! Lol Nugget was not in bad shape when we started her on these, and I feel like we caught her mobility issues early, so I can’t comment on the efficacy of these on animals in worse shape than mine. She loves them, so it’s not difficult to get her to eat them. This is the first product I started an auto ship order on!

So easy to give the medicine

These are the best. My gramma cat, 22 years old and arthritic, loves these. She thinks sshe's getting her treats and eats them right up while the others get their regular Greenies. These are helping her along with the powder sprinkle of Cosequin out of the capsules, put on her soft food. Best thing going for giving medicine that works so easy andn I know she's getting what she needs.

Works great

My almost 12 year old cat has been acting like she has arthritis. So I started giving this to her. She started feeling better almost instantly. I noticed a difference in her the same day. She's about 10 pounds. So right now we are doing the 2 treats a day. She is more playful, and alert. She will jump over the baby gates again. Highly recommend for your senior kitty!

She likes these!

My daughter married and took her cat with her. Abby is getting older and was having joint issues. I’ve said that I will remain responsible for her care since I actually did the adopting. We tried a couple kinds of joint supplements. She loves these and my daughter said that they do seem to be helping.
