Is there a difference between Dasuquin Advanced and Dasuquin?
Answer by ChewyOct 26, 2019
Dasaquin Advanced would be a veterinary clinic exclusive formula at this time. We encourage you to speak to your vet to determine which formula would be best for your pet.

We have been giving our 9 yr. old lab cosequin w/ HA for over a year. If we switch him to Dosequin, does he still need the 2 tablets for the first 4weeks, or is maintaining 1 per day okay?
Answer by ChewyMay 16, 2018
This supplement requires an increased intake during the initial 4 - 6 week administration period, even if other supplements have been used.

Is this packaged in the big bottle shown or in blister packs like I bought from the vet? I'd like to cut down on packaging so the jar/bottle appeals to me.
Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2018
This supplement is packaged in a jar.

Do you have to wait until your dog has symptoms or is this a preventative measure? I have a 65 lb lab mix, female, 10 yrs old, who isn't displaying symptoms but thought it may be a good preventative supplement. Advice?
Answer by ChewyMar 26, 2018
This supplement can be used for treatment or as a preventative. We encourage you to speak with your vet before starting this supplement.

didn’t work for us

I have a German shepherd who is 7 years old and starting to get stiff in the hips as most shepherds do as they age. My vet recommended that I start her on this to help loosen her up but I am on my second bottle so we definitely gave it a fair chance and we still haven’t noticed any difference in her. I even give her two on the days that we are more active as the bottle suggests. I still gave it two stars because it is a vet recommended product. But I’m going to try a different product next time once this bottle runs out.

Dasuquin Works!

My 9 year old lab mix was struggling to sit comfortably, get up, and walk. The vet diagnosed him with arthritis and put him on a 2 week steroid and Dasuquin. He improved within just a few days. I was worried that when steroid was done he would go back to limping, but after 6 weeks on Dasuquin he is spastically running around like he did when he was young. It is working so well I plan on keeping him on Dasuquin. Highly recommend!

Wonderful supplement

Since our vet suggested this supplement, this has made a big difference for Callie. When we take our walks, she is walking like a 2 yr old. What a blessing this is for her

Highly recommend, amazing difference

I adopted a senior mastiff mix a few months ago, he's a sweet old dude who was slow to move and get up, wasn't interested in play. When I took him for his vet visit I was told he had arthritis and that he was probably experiencing aches and stiffness. My vet recommended buying this for him and so I did. I started him on the recommended two a day for the first few weeks. After just ONE week I noticed a huge difference. It was like a miracle, he now gets up quickly and walks fast and eager, he got playful and jumps around. He was like a new dog! I'm not kidding i was so amazed it seemed like it reversed him a few years! Worth the price, I'm so happy my big boy doesn't seem as achey or painful and I can't recommend this enough. Also I thought I might have to hide the tablets in his food, but he eats them like treats, no problem so I guess there's no bad taste

Changed formula??

Have been giving Dasuquin to my GSD for 4 years and my dog loved it. Received a new bottle and opened it a couple of weeks ago and my dog has been spitting it out every morning. I took a whiff this morning and I would spit it out too. Instead of the pleasant beefy aroma I have smelled in the past, I got a strong chemical stench. Bottle is going in the trash. Total waste of money. Nutramax what have you done!!!

Spinal arthritis prevention

The Golden Retriever prior to this one developed spinal arthritis as she grew older which became quite painful for her and contributed significantly to her overall fragility as she aged. Dasuquin (plain) seemed to help her, but wish we had figured that out much earlier. Like her, our current Golden (now 7 years old) is physically active & athletic so we started the Dasuquin for her as soon as the vet ok'd it. I recommend this for prevention, especially in a dog who you know is likely prone to joint issues for some reason.

Great Product!!

We have a six year old yellow lab that started limping on her right hind leg. We thought it might be the swimming in the pool as it seemed more noticeable after she got out. The frequency of the limping increased so we took her to the vet and she said to order some Dasuquin and try that first before we do any x-rays. After two weeks of being on Dasuquin twice a day her limping stopped. We now give her one a day as a maintenance level. It's been six months now and she is healthy as a pup.
