Questions & Answers

My dog does not chew the tablet but swallows it whole. Does that matter?
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2018
These chewable tablets can be taken whole as well.

If I'm switching from cosequin to you product can I just start with one pill a day?
Answer by ChewyOct 27, 2018
Dasuquin and Cosequin are both dog joint supplements made by Nutramax Labs. The difference between Dasuquin and Cosequin is that Dasuquin also contains ASU, which is an additional ingredient believed to prevent cartilage erosion. Since your pet has already been taking Cosequin, there would not be a need to start Dasuquin with a loading dose.

Is this the same as the soft chew??
Answer by ChewyNov 23, 2017
This item has the same ingredients and amount of MSM as the Nutramax Dasuquin Soft Chews Joint Health Dog Supplement.

Is the brewer's yeast ingredient gluten free or is there any gluten in these tablets? My dog has a serious gluten allergy. Thanks
Answer by ChewyJul 17, 2018
This Supplement is free of all grain and wheat products, including gluten.

Good so far

My girl is about 9 years old, and all though she is still in good shape and loves adventures I have been noticing that she favors one of her hips and massage doesn't seem to get the kink out. All dogs are different but I swear that with in just a few days of the month long double dose she is all ready moving easier. She isnt bunny hopping in the back legs when she runs or kicking her leg out on that one side like she had been. On our last easy hike she was even jumping over bigger logs that she would normally choose to find an easier way around. At this rate she will be wearing me out! Also it helps that she is part lab but she eats these no problem, Im curious if our picky shepard mix will take them. I will do an update in the coming year and see if it lasts. Im really glad that this product is affordable most things are so over priced which makes it hard to invest in for the puppies, but they need it! Good experience with Chewy so far, my sisters has been using them for a long time and hasnt had any issues.

Get a different form - not these tablets

Did my due diligence on effectiveness & price, which led me to these tablets. He loves their brand of pro-biotic “treats,” so I thought this would be a safe bet. Wrong. I regret it, and I’ll regret it for the rest of the 150 doses. These “tablets” are >huge<! My dog won’t take them as a chew treat. They’re not scored for splitting by hand, they’re too big for our pill splitter, and they kind of explode when smashing them to mix with food. So every day, I reuse a plastic zip lock bag to contain the powder before hammering tablets with my meat tenderizer. So far, at least, he will still eat his food with this powder mixed in, thank heavens. That said, it’s yet another step in a complex feeding routine with my 13 yr.-old sheepadoodle. The jury is out about effectiveness, and I just hope that my dog will make it obvious to me. The cost savings is outweighed by the trouble, considering the four months ahead of me in using this bottle.
