I bought the large dog version and the small dog version at the recommendation of my vet. I put them on an autoship because I didn't want to run out... But I ended up canceling that autoship because three out of four of my dogs will not eat these at all, so the 4th senior dog that will actually eat these - will now have a lifetime supply...eek...I was hoping they'd be more enticing/soft moist and chewy, but they are pretty dry in my opinion.
We noticed our ten year Doberman started to slow down a bit last year after his teeth cleaning and tooth extraction. All his bloodwork is normal. He meals are homemade. Except for his Bone Broth and his Badlands Superfood Topper. We noticed weakness was coming from his front leg wrist joint yet he had no pain. And again tests were normal. So we researched and decided on Dasuquin Large Breed. Its been just over two weeks and he is getting up again easily. Greeting us at the door and wanting to go out more. He eats two with no issue and we havent experienced and issues with the smell of the product. going to continue on two for the six weeks then move him to one. Very happy for this product. Thank you.
We were previously using the Dasaquin chew tabs (w/o MSM) for my elderly dogs with osteosarthritis. They gobbled them up for years with no problem and they seemed to help their joints. Then about a year or more ago after I opened a new bottle, it was a hard no. Something must've changed about the taste. After a year of fighting it (slathering in PB, bribing with other treats, etc), thought I'd give these a try. I never did from the start bc they had BHA or something like that. But I don't see that listed anymore. These chews are BIG. And they aren't soft enough to just chew down. I have to tear them in half so that my big 95 lb dog can eat it. Unfortunately there is something in these that give him really bad gas though. I stopped giving and the gas went away. Started giving again and it's back. On the search for a non-Nutramax brand now. I had the same experience with their Denamarin chew tabs too. Initially took them no prob, but stopped taking both at about the same time. So must be something they are using now in their chew tabs :(
I needed a backup bag of Dasuquin to ensure my two shepherds receive these chews daily. I found the product easily, placed the order and received my Dasuquin the very next day! Amazing CHEWY, I don't know how you are always on top of everything! Thank You!
The first time I gave the chews to the dogs, two of them eagerly ate them up, but the other three were reluctant until I broke them in half, and I guess the smell enticed them. So just in case your dogs are like mine and have to sniff everything and give it a once over before agreeing to eat it, I suggest to try breaking them in half. Now they eat them and look forward to it. Very good quality product.
These have exceeded my expectations They are loaded with high quality ingredients and are far superior to any hip and joint supplement out there These have been life changing for my German Shepherd
I bought a small bag to try them out and see if I like them. Unfortunately like many people have mentioned in other reviews, they dry out very quickly. I opened the bag and by the second day the chews were super stiff. I would buy again but use it as a preventative. I do AKC rally and FCAT and I want to make sure my dogs joints stay nice and lubricated. I can’t imagine giving these to a senior dog, I would have to break these in half or into smaller pieces. My dog is 5yr old rottie gsp mix lean 85lbs, he eats these in 2 bites and is not a picky eater. Can’t speak on joint differences since I’m using this as a preventative but me personally I would look for a powder supplement when my dog starts to get old.
Our 13.5 year old Boxador was showing signs of arthritis. She has been active her whole life, but has slowed down significantly in the past six months. It had gotten to the point where she sometimes had trouble standing up and tired easily. After two weeks of Dasuquin, she had a dramatic improvement in mobility and pain levels. She can once again jump on the furniture, move without stiffness, and go on walks without wanting to stop after a few minutes. She seems so much peppier now. I’m amazed at how much Dasuquin has helped our old girl.
I stated giving these to my dog for joint support. I'm not sure if they are helping yet because they say it takes 4 weeks. Problem is ever since starting them my dog is itching like crazy. I'm not sure I can keep her on them, but they were so expensive. Guess I'll have to get her an even more expensive allergy shot to counteract the allergic reaction.
I have a 6-year-old husky that has been limping after every park visit, he gets to the point where he can't get up if he lays down too long at home. I got nutramax in hopes that we can get him walking regularly again. It's only been 4 weeks but I haven't seen any improvement yet. Really disappointed because the price of this is not something that's affordable for the average consumer.
