My dog does not chew the tablet but swallows it whole. Does that matter?
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2018
These chewable tablets can be taken whole as well.

If I'm switching from cosequin to you product can I just start with one pill a day?
Answer by ChewyOct 27, 2018
Dasuquin and Cosequin are both dog joint supplements made by Nutramax Labs. The difference between Dasuquin and Cosequin is that Dasuquin also contains ASU, which is an additional ingredient believed to prevent cartilage erosion. Since your pet has already been taking Cosequin, there would not be a need to start Dasuquin with a loading dose.

What is the appropriate dosage for a 203# english mastiff?
Answer by ChewyOct 18, 2017
We encourage you to speak with your veterinarian to discuss whether or not this product will be sufficient for your pet as it is over the weight limit this product is recommended for.

Is this the same as the soft chew??
Answer by ChewyNov 23, 2017
This item has the same ingredients and amount of MSM as the Nutramax Dasuquin Soft Chews Joint Health Dog Supplement.

Maybe too early for a verdict

My Bulldog is a very active pup and super agile, so of course he hurt his back leg and had a slight limp. He was for a week on Rimidyl and Dasuquin. I continued with Dasuquin, so we are close to 4 weeks. No more limping so far, but he has now loose stool. Will reduce slightly dosage and continue until 6th week. Feel it helps, but my pup has trouble digesting Dasuquin and maybe switch him to a different brand.

Good flavor

They must have a good flavor because our picky eater takes them as a treat. The only problem is I have to break them into smaller pieces. For a big dog she has a small mouth. Shes a lab/spaniel. But its easier to keep track of 2 a day instead of smaller ones and having to try and give more.

Young dogs need it too

It helped my 16 year old mutt, now it's helping my young pup. My pup is now 18 months old. She was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 5 months, had a surgery to fix one side at 6 months. She takes the supplement daily and I'm not sure if it's this but she's running around with her friends like a fool. She'd rather have a different treat but if I insist she eat it she will, then she gets something more tasty.

Wonderful Dasuquin

My old dog is really being helped by the vet suggested Dasuquin. I was surprised to see a difference in just a few days. She has no problem taking the big chewable pill. I must admit I put some fun topping on the pill because I wanted her to take it easily. As a side note one of my friends used it with her slowing down 16 year old cat and the cat continued to jump and climb until her passing at 18.

Game changer for 13 yr old GSD

My male GSD was suffering from arthritis in his back legs that was causing the legs to crossover each other and make him stumble. After using Dasuquin w MSM daily, his legs do not cross or buckle under him. I give him the tablets in liverwurst and he takes them easily. I missed one day, and I could tell the difference. I'm so glad that I tried this supplement!

It works, but apparently aren't the tastiest.

My dog has been getting these twice daily for a couple of weeks now, and she's already noticeably less stiff than before. I took off a star for the apparent taste...she doesn't like them. I break them into 3-4 pieces , put them in her bowl, then cover with squeeze cheese or peanut butter, so it's a "treat." Without covering them with something tasty, she won't eat them.

extremely impressed

i have a 7 year old golden/GSD girl and her hips started bugging her last winter. i was recommended dasuquin with MSU and ASU. i have seen a dramatic difference in her joints as well as movements. i cut these in half for my 30 lb kelpie and just hide it in a spoonful of wet food. i will buy this forever !! the hefty price is worth it for your babies - i promise.

Made my dog worse

We bought Dasuquin based on my vets recommendation for our 11 yr old lab for his joints. After 3 doses he was worse, could not move, was anxious and panting all the time. We immediately stooped and within 2 days he was back to his old self.

Large dogs = large pills

These pills are large, approx. 3/4" x 3/4" in diameter. My dog does not care for the taste of them. They are so big they overlap on my pill splitter that I use to break them into smaller pieces. Even then, my dog still leaves the crushed pieces in his bowl. I even tried a mortar and pestle to grind the pills into powder form and he refused his food.

Joint Pain

My Vet recommended Dasuquin and I noticed a different in my dogs movement soon after she started taking it. She is 10 years old.
