Is the medication inside the tablet absorbed even if the outer gel rubbery tablet is still intact after in the stomach for a few hours?
Answer by Spencer • Sep 14, 2021
I am having the same issue with my small dog. He throws it up intact. I now put a small nick in the gel coating to make sure it dissolves.

Cat takes it.

I pill my cat orally first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and then give her the B12 by the same manufacturer as a treat. She will usually then go drink water from her fountain. This system works well for me. I then wait 30 minutes to 1hr and then give her food with one pack of immuquin, also made by this brand. Backstory: My cat's liver enzymes came back elevated at her recent bloodwork so I did my research and wanted to add supplements to help her before going for an ultrasound. I'm hoping to see good results because we are making sure she is taking these religiously. I will update the review after her bloodwork in the future.

The dye runs off on your fingers

I bought this for my ailing dog. (bad liver) The dark blue dye covered my fingers when I was giving it to her. Then it was on her tongue and fur on her lower mouth. I ended up only giving her 2 pills because she got very loose stool just after two pills. I'm not sure if this caused her problem but it was the only new med/food given/introduced to her and her stool became normal a day later.

Blue Coating

We were happy to find this available on Chewy after our vet stopped offering it. The replacement from our vet was making our dog sick so we went back to the old option, Denamarin. My only complaint is the blue coating which comes off on everything. It takes a few times to get my dog to swallow her pill and in that time her white fur, my hands, and the pill shooter all become covered in bright blue residue. We didn't have this problem when we were able to get it directly from the vet so I'm not sure what the change has been.

Made my cat throw up

I was giving this my cat for a few days, as the vet recommended a liver supplement for him. He kept throwing up everyday. I discontinued and he has not thrown up at all. Something in this pill makes him very ill. Contacted Chewy and they refunded my money. Great customer service.

size of boxes used

The boxes seem overly large for the contents. Since freight isn't charged, it's not an expense to me, but it is a wsste of boxes. perishable liquids are in boxes not labeled "perishable, do not freeze".

Denamarin liver supplement

My elderly dog has been on Denamarin for about 3 years. He has elevated liver enzymes and the Denamarin seems to be keeping his lever disease stable.

Good Value

This liver supportive supplement is recommended by my vet. Chewy's cost is considerably less than from my vet

Excellent product

When used as directed I had great results. My dog is 17 years old and was losing ground. He really bounced back.

Not good, cat kept throwing up

My vet recommend Denamarin. My cat kept throwing up multiple times a day after giving this. I discontinued and there have been no more issues.

Hard Pills

Always buy the chewables, which my small dog loves. These have to be shoved down your small pet's throat. No use trying to wrap in a piece of food, as it will be spit out. The chewables for all dogs hasn't been available for MONTHS. No excuse, no reason. Going to find something else other than Denamarin.
