Last year my boxador presented with a distended abdomen, lethargy, and elevated liver enzymes. We have been giving Denamarin to her since then. Not long after she started it she began acting like her old self again. As of November, her enzymes are all back to normal except one that is barely above the parameters, but the vet isn’t worried about it because whichever enzyme it is is commonly elevated in geriatric dogs. She is 13.5 years old on Denamarin and Dasuquin, both made by the same company. These products have drastically improved her life and I would recommend them to anyone.
You know, it honestly disgusts me that companies make you pay so much money for medication that is so important. My dog has liver issues. He will eventually die if he stops taking these to help control his ALT levels. His liver will fail. So every two weeks, I have to pay a ridiculous price for these pills.
I took my 13 yr old pitbull in for bloodwork as she had been drinking a ton of water and was always hungry. Her liver count couldn’t even be read by the machine. She’s been on this for almost three weeks and I’ve noticed she’s acting a lot like her old self even almost playing. She’s having less trouble on non carpeted floors also. This is her in the middle. We go back to have her bloodwork done again next month so I’m hopeful the machine will at least be able to read her numbers and she continues to improve.
Definitely a great product , our 11 year old pitmix is on it due to having some heavy duty seizure medications. A lot of the reviews comment on the medication having to be on an empty stomach … i simply give her meds before feeding time and I open her mouth and drop the pill in at the far back of her mouth … it’s not really difficult… The only problem I have is this significant price increase which is so shameful on the company’s part. Then people wonder why older dogs end up In shelters. Make pet care affordable for all.
My dog was on these briefly until my dog's internist changed him to a different version which could only be purchased by the practice. During the time he took these, however, his energy seemed much better and he seemed like he felt better.
After a recent health scare, I was prescribed this for my 13 year old dog at the ER. We went for a follow up visit to my primary vet and his liver levels were going down thanks to this medication and the vet recommended keeping him on it. I will gladly do so if it means I can have my sweet dog around longer! I am very happy with this product!
After routine bloodwork for my senior dog’s (11 years old) liver values were found to be high, my vet recommended I put my my dog on Denamarin for 30 days and then recheck. this was to see if her liver could be supported by this and react positively, or if there was not a positive reaction, that we could investigate further into the possible cause. luckily, her values dropped enough that they put her back into the high end of normal. So, we waited for six months and tested it again. She had essentially maintained around the same numbers on the high end of normal. I wanted to see if we could get the numbers better, so I put her on this regularly for three months, and then we rechecked again. We were both very excited – and I was very relieved-to see that her numbers had dropped back down into “the best numbers she’s had since we’ve been testing” (according to the vet). I had been familiar with this nutraceutical because years ago one of my dogs that was going through chemotherapy was given this by his oncologist to support and liver functions during chemo it had worked for him, but I have not used it completely healthy dog. I would highly recommend anyone whose dog has received an elevated liver enzyme report to discuss this option with their doctor.
Our Lab needs to take a supplement for her liver. Denamarin was recommended by her vet. We add to her food daily.
Placed my order by phone. The chewy staff was very helpful and expedited my order. The products were delivered quickly and in good condition. Perfect!
Package was left on top of our mailbox. Our mailbox is 250 feet away from our house. First time it was left up on the walkway by the door this time way down below not acceptable. Too many packages have been taken in this area.
