Flavor is too much - have to disguise!!
By CharlotteGal on Nov 14, 2020
Totally agree with the reviewer that said her dog could smell these “500 miles away.” Imagine getting ready to eat a big plate of spaghetti, and then someone squirts peppermint oil all over it. Yum! (NOT). Trying to hide the capsule in food just ruins the food. I get around this by dipping the whole capsule in canned pumpkin and dropping it down the back of their throats. I have Shelties who hate being “messed with” but they also LOVE pumpkin (a little with each meal is great for digestion!). They would bark Every. Single. Time. I gave them this; but a few months later it is totally normal, swipe the pill into a big glob of pumpkin, then open their mouths with one hand and plop it in the back Totally agree with the reviewer that said her dog could smell these “500 miles away.” Imagine getting ready to eat a big plate of spaghetti, and then someone squirts peppermint oil all over it. If you get it too far forward on the tongue, they are expert at spitting it out. I think the peppermint oil is great for hiding the fish smell after eating, the trick is getting them to take it on the way down. But do your dog a favor and don’t ruin their meal! I love this product and will continue to buy it because I don’t like measuring/mixing/running the risk of meal rejection - which was happening before I used the “pumpkin method.” I did try peanut butter before the pumpkin but I was making a huge mess, getting it everywhere, and the pumpkin was just much easier overall. … more

Good Product
By Chelle on Dec 27, 2020
This was recommended by our vet because our dog is a tripod. It is paired with a glucosamine. After about three weeks we were able to see an improvement in ambulatory and a steadier gate while walking and running. In fact, she is now one of the fastest dogs at the dog park.

Our girl has been on Welactin for about 4 years. She will be 13 in a couple of months and I feel this has kept her healthy, her coat shiny, nails from splitting.

Minty Fresh is an Understatement
By Horo on Sep 9, 2020
My 60 lb border collie mix is a very particular eater. She gets white rice mixed with beef baby food every morning to settle her stomach for some medication she takes. She can detect a fish oil capsule at 500 yards and will dutifully eat around it. I have previously been able to open fish oil capsules and mix the liquid into the rice mixture with no issues but the very strong peppermint odor of these capsules makes them impossible to disguise and she refuses to eat it. I tried mixing the oil into some canned food she normally devours. She ate it reluctantly. I already have to put a pill down her throat every day and I’d rather not have to do that with 3 additional fish oil capsules every day My 60 lb border collie mix is a very particular eater. Awesome for my Golden!
By Katie on Dec 5, 2020
I have a golden retriever who has been taking 3-4 a day for a long time. He has seasonal allergies and while he does get itchy, I rarely need to give him Benadryl. They definitely improve his coat/skin.

This is the exact same product I was purchasing from my vet at nearly three times the price! My dog loves the mint flavor.

Golden loves it!
By Sophie on Jul 6, 2020
My almost 2 year old English cream golden suffers from a strange skin disorder that causes black skin that flakes along with lots of itching. We tried everything from skin creams/sprays, prescription diet and shampoos but no luck. Our vet recommended giving her fish oil pills and warned that it could take up to 6 months to notice a difference. We’ve been giving her these every day for about 3 months and have noticed a huge difference! Less itching, less flaking and her coat is much brighter than it was before! Excited to see what another 3 months on these supplements will do for her. She also just eats them like a treat, don’t have to puncture the capsules or wrap them in anything for her to My almost 2 year old English cream golden suffers from a strange skin disorder that causes black skin that flakes along with lots of itching. Great price
By Taylor on Oct 3, 2020
I have 3 dogs, 1 prefers the liquid form of welactin and the other 2 prefer the soft gel capsules. It’s so much easier to use the capsules and be able to just toss them right in the food bowl, 1 capsule per 20 pounds of body weight. My vet recommended these capsules, but I buy them from chewy for half the price.

Good stuff!
By TigerMom on Jul 16, 2020
Our vet recommended the Welactin omega3 following our dog’s nephrectomy and splenectomy. These are for her overall wellness, skin, and coat, and she does have good energy and her coat looks great. Good stuff!
