Give 1 softgel cap daily per 20 lbs of your dog’s body weight. The caps can be given as a treat or mixed with your dog’s food. The caps can also be punctured and the oil applied directly onto your dog’s food.
Most commercial pet foods include baseline vitamins and nutrients, but some may not have the adequate amount to suit your pet’s exact health needs. Like in humans, vitamins and supplements can help support your pet’s long-term health, regulating everything from digestion to muscle growth. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best vitamins and supplements for your furry friend.
It is recommended to give the suggested dosage based off your pet’s weight. Please refer to the Feeding Instructions tab and consult with your veterinarian for more information.

My vet recommended this to us and it turned our older dog’s life around! Paired with Nutramax Dasequin, he’s transformed from sad, limping, and unable to run into the happy, running fool we remember from a year ago! I am proactively giving to my younger dog now too. They both eat the softgels up when mixed with their food with no issues. Being bigger dogs (80 and 100lbs) we have to give them 4-5 pills each, but split over two meals a day makes it manageable. The oil was fine, just annoying to measure it out - this is so much easier!
The description says it's good for small dogs but the capsule is huge for a Yorkie. It also has peppermint, which they say is safe in small amounts but I'd rather avoid it completely. Wish I could get my money back because they're not going to be used at all due to the size.
Welactin softgels were a little larger than I thought. I put them in her dog food and unless I hide them really well she has trouble eating them. But, if I wrap them in peanut butter she gobbles them up.
Unless you are okay with ramming this down your dog's throat, I don't recommend the capsule form. My dogs can't chew it so I found punctured capsules on the rug. Now, it smells of fish oil there. I now puncture the capsule and squirt it on my dog's food. I am hoping I can return the second unopened bottle.
Disappointed, but my fault, really, for not reading nutrition label closely. Have been using welactin liquid recommended by and purchased at vet clinic. Was looking for easier method and lower price. Still going through supply of liquid, but will have to give 13 capsules daily to get same amount of omegas. My dog will eat anything, so capsules should be easy, but 13/day not affordable.
I was looking for a good Omega product for my dogs. their skin and coats were dry and flaky. Their fur was becoming rough. I have on with CHF and joint issues. My holistic vet recommended this product. It is amazing and utilizing Chewy well priced. With 3 dogs we go through the bottle pretty quick. Once I can time it better we will be doing autoship! thanks Chewy
I initially bought this for my 9 yr old lab who has arthritis, vet rec. Bought chewable first, then soft gel caps. My dog (pretty indiscriminate eater) ate both forms without issue. Now giving to my 1yr old lab bc of health benefits. Issue is that the bigger the dog, the more tablets/dose. But capsules are less expensive and seem to work on joints and skin/coat.
Horribly toxic to my dog. Read the ingredients and research if peppermint oil is safe for dogs. He was violently throwing up until I figured it out. Should never be used.
Nutramax scores big again! DID WONDERS FOR MY BULLDOGS SKIN AND COAT. Took about 3 to 4 weeks but his skin issue is gone and his coat is soft and shinny This stuff is worth every penny
I have been using welactin for two years on my 11 year old lab / terrier mix. It along with exercise and a senior diet has helped his skin and hair look amazing. I highly recommend it as his special diet, more exercise and the daily dose of welactin has lowered his cholesterol and triglycerides a little.
