My furr baby is a Choc Lab named Drake. He is now 10. I have had him on joint supplements most of his life because he was so athletic. Since those are on preventative they may reach a time where there is too much inflamation as it was for Drakes shoulder and he started limping. My vet recommended this product which is the one he gives his dogs, explaining Drake would need high omegas. At least 1500 a day. I pour this over his morning meal each day. He is fine with it. It took 3 weeks before I could no longer see any limping. It improved a bit each week. He is happy to be pain free and more active therefore.
My vet recommended EPA for my dog's skin issues. For his weight he would need 1000-2000 mg of EPA daily. When I checked labels for fish oil and other sources of EPA, I found for example only 165 mg of EPA per capsule of fish oil. That was impractical. But this product contains exactly the right daily 870 mg of EPA in one 6 ml scoop (about a teaspoon). I mix it with his food and he loves the taste.
My vet recently recommended Nutramax Welactin Omega-3 Liquid Skin & Coat Supplement for my two senior pups with heart conditions. (She also recommended Nordic Naturals Omega-3 Pet Softgels Supplement.) I purchased both. The first time I used the Nutramax Welactin supplement, later that day and the next day, my dogs noticeably were more active, and they had much more energy. One dog is arthritic (she had not been able to climb onto the sofa for years); however, she was able to within one day of this supplement. I can't believe a supplement could do this well. Each day I rotate between both supplements (the Nutramax one day and the next the Nordic Naturals, etc.) I will keep buying this Nutramax and I highly recommend it to others. I wish Nutramax would make this supplement for people!
My 8 year old female collie began taking this on December 16, and I swear she was moving better the very next day. She's been acting like a puppy again, playing with toys and biting her brother. I am using the liquid form, and it's easy to put 1 and 1/2 scoops into her food. I thought there would be a fishy smell, but not at all. It seems to have no smell. I may start giving this to her brother also.
My vet recommended this and my picky dog absolutely loves this stuff! Even better, by putting it on her food she will finally eat that too instead of begging for people food all day! This will be a forever product in my house.
I have a miniature dachshund (2yrs) and a standard goldendoodle (7 m). Our vet recommended it for our mini doxie. They both love the taste and won’t eat their food without it. His coat is definitely softer too.
Our vet recommended this product for our Great Pyrenees. There has been noticeable improvement in her skin. Painful, itchy rash. Improvement after 4-6 weeks of use. We are continuing to use it daily. (We have tried other products that had little to No effect, and had a higher cost). Have used in addition to prescription spray. Have not needed to use the spray for several weeks now.
The Vet recommrended we add Omega-3 to our dogs diet as she's now 11 years old. I haven't noticed any changes yet, but our Ruth sure loves the taste.
While at a vet appointment in September I asked about the dandruff, dry coat and overall poor coat condition of my little dog and Welactin was recommended. I began feeding the supplement to both of my dogs on September 23 and a month later both of my dogs have shiny coats, and the dandruff on my small dog has nearly disappeared. I had been feeding the dogs another omega 3 supplement with no visible results and the difference in the products is astounding. Great product!
My dogs love this! They prefer their kibble with a drizzle now, and refuse to eat if we run out of it. Keeps their coats looking great! Especially for my American Bully with food allergies (hydrolyzed protein diet).
