Working for my Joey!

My 10-year-old Pomeranian - Shitzu mix likes these! I have tried so many other Omega-3 products from expensive to inexpensive and this is the one he likes. Since we received the product I have been giving him one a day and I have noticed his coat looks more glamorous (he already had a healthy shiny coat). But the main reason that I am loving this product because Joey now has more pep in his step. Within the last year, time to time, his hind knee would bother him (due to a previous injury) on walks but now he can go further on his walks.

Soft is relative

I assumed that this soft chew would be a little like the pill pockets I use to give Luna her meds... not so much. More like a dense caramel, so if your pup has a hard time chewing this might not be a good option. My pooch gets 1/2 ... so there is cutting involved and I am wondering if the few I cut for the week will dry out and be even less chewy? Verdict is out. The Welactin Oil was so much easier - but harder to find.... I am just putting the 1/2 chew in with her kibble and she seems to manage tho the first one got me that "what the heck is this?" look that only our pooches can offer!

Hard Chews

Despite what other reviews are saying, peppermint oil is in fact safe to give your dog in moderation. Giving raw oil can cause ulcerations in their mouth and their GI tract, but peppermint oil in treats is perfectly safe. With that being said, my trash can dog doesn't have a problem eating these. I can see how the smell would be off putting to other dogs, as it does have a peppermint smell. Space as others have stated I would not call these soft chews. I could barely cut them with a knife. I'm using this prophylactically to prevent joint disease in my 3-year-old Greyhound, so she doesn't have a problem chewing them and swallowing them whole. But for an older dog, there are definitely better options.

Sherman Loves These "Treats"

These came free when I purchased my Hills Science Dog Food. I was hoping for a discount on the food, but this was even better. They are great to help my pup with his sensitive, itchy skin. The supplements come with a good number included, & since my pup is 14.5 pounds, a whole one is really too much for him (20lb pups get 1). I give him halves each day, & he takes them into the den to eat at his corner "treat" spot. MUCH better reception than new heartworm & flea&tick pills we have to shove down gullet! (Those are switching back to good tasting Frontline!)

13 year old border collie/Aussie mix seems to react poorly, negative rating

I received this supplement free as a promotion. 2 days ago my dog reluctantly ate one and the following morning he began having very poor balance, unable to walk without stumbling, poor appetite and general lethargy. Up until this he was able to run, catch a ball midflight even when it was thrown from behind him and generally seemed to feel well. While I cannot say for sure if this was the reason for his rapid decline, it is the only thing that was different he had ingested. He has no history of skeletal or nerve issues. Luckily, he had only one chew. I will definitely not offer him another. He is beginning to improve.

Absolutely not

The dog food my vet recommended for my senior, special needs pup was running an offer including this chew. I broke the pet parent rule and didn't read the ingredients first. I opened the bag, handed her a chew and went 'huh, this smells really minty." Low and behold, peppermint oil in the ingredient list. Google isn't a medical degree but most of what I saw on sites that seem reliable (including one from chewy) said that peppermint oil isn't good for dogs. Thank heavens she didn't like it (they're also tough) so I won't have to fret about her all night. I probably won't purchase anything from this company for including a potentially harmful ingredient.

Dogs Like Em

These treats were a bit of a surprise. They were bigger than anticipated, similar to a plump quarter and bit chewy, similar to human gum drop but not so sticky. Both dogs like them and they contribute to soft coats, but the dogs tend to quickly swallow instead of chewing. Unsure if I will continue to buy bc they are high density thus the price is pretty high per tablet.

Dog will not eat and very hard!

I have an older lab who is picky about fish oil pills So I decided to give these a try and there was a promotion going for them. I’m assuming the promotion was just for the company to get rid of them because they a hard as a rock and my Dog will not eat them. He is a lab who will eat any treat you give him without hesitation. Will not be trying these again since it was a waste of money. If the promotion was to get rid of older treats then that should have been disclosed clearly with the discount!

Like the "soft chew" concept

I thought my little guy would enjoy the soft chew the same way he enjoys his monthly heartworm and flea/tick chews. No dice! He sniffed and walked away. I tried breaking up the chew and mixing with his regular food. He picked the pieces out of the bowl and put them on the floor. He's a very picky eater so I was going out a limb with the purchase. Back to the gels for us. I will donate the soft chews to the animal adoption center.

Top 1000 Contibutor

Completely Inedible

I got these on promotion and hoped I could swap these out for salmon oil (ew!) but my dog, who is not picky, would not touch these. They came out of the back rock hard. My dog would not take them like a treat, so I attempted to break them up to put into her food, which proved to be impossible due to how hard they are. We love other Nutramax supplements, but I would not recommend these.
