OK for some not for all
We were really excited to receive the Nutrena Oyster Shell Chicken Feed. We did give it a few tries. It seems my chickens all but 2 were not really into it. My rooster liked it and 1 of my hens. But they were not really excited about this one. I would definitely try this brand again just not this product. Will continue to see if they change their minds after awhile. As of right now just 2 out of the 4 are attempting it. Will update if any changes.
Help make shells thicker but has a lot of powder
So the bag we received to try has a large amount of powder in it, which our chickens don't seem to like too well. They will eat it but not as much as the previous brand we were ordering for them so its lasting a good while. If the maker can figure out a way to reduce the amount of powder mixed in with the bits, I think the chickens would enjoy it and therefor eat it more.
Improvement Seen
After adding this supplement to my feeding stations I have been able to collect all my eggs at one time during the day vs multiple times. My Easter egger only lays on the ground so I always have to go and get those before they get stepped on and broken. Lately I haven't had to do that, they seem to be withstanding longer times without getting broken.
Better Shells
This definitely improved the hardness of my chickens' egg shells. It worked fairly quickly. It was a little powdery, but I expect some of that with an oyster shell product. I would purchase again as a supplement when they need it.
Awesome
I got this as a sample to try and it was really good. My chickens didn't knock it all over and throw it all over the place like they did with the other oyster shells that they've been on. They're eggs are still thick and beautiful. Love this stuff.

Necessity
This supplement is necessary for layers. I have it available at all times in its own dedicated feeder. The hens get it as needed. High quality item. Will buy again.

After adding this supplement to my regular feed routine I saw an overall improvement. Egg size, amount produced and taste all improved for almost all of my Hens.
Great for hens and your garden
I use this for my friends' egg-laying hens, and they are added to their diet. I also use this in my garden to keep pests out of the soil. So many uses!
Good
I am assuming this is good. It is a great price. I placed it in a feed tray for them to get when needed. I haven't had to fill it yet though.
