BadProduction Run

We have been using this cat food for years and The Salmon & Tuna was fine but the Chicken & Shrimp was like mush and was not up to standard. Our cat would not eat this product and she had done so for years.

Package closure

The package is difficult to open. Certainly not "Senior" friendly.

Product deliberately switched

I have always purchased Nutro pate salmon and tuna for my finicky cat. In recent months it has been difficult to find. When I saw that Chewy had a mixed 12 pack (6 salmon/tuna and 6 chicken) I ordered 2 cases, assuming I would donate the chicken pods to a local shelter. When I opened the fist case this morning, although it was properly labeled and sealed, there were 12 chicken and NO salmon/tuna. I looked at the second case and it too had 12 chicken pods. Whether this switch occurred at Nutro or Chewy, it certainly raises questions about Chewy’s quality control.

Great Cat Food

My cat was throwing up her dry food. She lost a lot of weight, and the vet could not find anything wrong. We tried this wet food hoping she could digest it easier. She seems to love it and is not throwing up any longer. She has gained some weight back. I do find that she eats more than what seems to be a serving. She eats 2 full cartons a day. That is 4 sides. It does smell like other have reported, but I think that is something that all wet foods have as a negative. I would recommend this food.

Half great half not so great

My cat loves the Salmon and Tuna recipe, but dislikes and will not eat the Chicken and Shrimp recipe. I tried feeding that flavor to my neighbor cats who I cat sit and none of them would eat the chicken and shrimp recipe either. So, I am now stuck with dozens of packets of that flavor that none of the cats I know will eat.

So far so good

My “kitz” change taste way too often, but as of right now (and I’m almost at the end of the case) they like it. I’m afraid of buying a bigger case and then they decide they don’t like it anymore. Something I can tell is the cat shelter is very happy with my food donation lol.

New to Nutro

I have had a hard time with replacing the CRAVE wet food! Nutro is more expensive, but not by much. My 2 cats really love it! Maybe more than they loved the Crave! No leftovers! The Chicken and Shrimp is their favorite!

not even if your fave food is shrimp and salmon

I thought this food would be a nice treat, a break in between my cat’s prescription urinary cans that he hates so much. He is not a food-motivated cat and never shows interest in human food… unless it’s shrimp or salmon, which he will give you sad puppy-dog eyes for, or try to steal off your plate. But he wants nothing to do with either of these flavors. He doesn’t even want to lick the gravy off the lid. In his defense, the chicken & shrimp flavor does smell like rotting meat to me, and the salmon & tuna only smells slightly better.

Poor Packaging

Why reinvent the wheel when it comes to packaging pet food? I thought by the 21st century manufacturers finally "got it": easy to open, easy to store, easy to dispense the food AND be recyclable. But no, somebody comes up with an awkward container, can't find a cap to cover the opened container, and worse it's not environmentally friendly. Every time I tried to open one of these things I got splattered with pet food juice. The foil topping must be welded to the container--there were times I thought a can opener might be needed. Poor design, bad idea, period. Cat loved the food, but then he loves ALL food. I gave one star simply because the food didn't reek when opened and spewed all over me.
