This was my first time ordering from Chewy and my food arrived at my door the next day which was great. However this kibble is much different than what was in my last bag from my local pet food store. As another reviewer had mentioned, it appears that the ingredients have changed yet again! The kcal/cup are much lower now than before - 254 vs. 304, which means I’m going to have to increase my dogs feed. The fat and fiber content seem to be a lot different as well. My 10 yr old lab still gobbled up this blend but he isn’t a picky eater. I’ve been feeding him the NUTRO lamb and rice for many years and have kept him at a healthy weight. The vet says it appears to be a good food for him as he is doing well on it. We also use a fish oil supplement with each meal. I’m not pleased to see these ingredients changing again so soon so will be investigating other food choices and discussing them with our vet. Tried to submit a photo of the different foods but it gave me errors. The older food was round and more brown in color; the new is more triangular and more chicken broth color. Also new kibble is a bit smaller. … more

  • Good Experience

    By on

I accidentally ordered the healthy weight dog food instead of the senior dog food, which was totally my bad. But my ordering and shipping experience with Chewy has been great. I've re-set up auto-delivery with the senior dog food and will likely stick with that. On the other hand, my dog still seems to like this food just as much as he liked the senior dog food, and I've had a pretty good experience with Nutro since I switched my dog to it several months back.

  • Excellent Results

I have a Lab at 135 pounds that I adopted and he has grown over time. No table scraps and few treats. Just a big lovable guy. I spoke to a guy who showed me what to look for on the bags for calories alone and how the schedule for what to feed actually represents. I was stunned. Introduced Healthy Weight Lamb & Rice. My lovable lab is down 30 pounds. He is not looking for more food. My Shepard is down as well and everyone is happy.

  • Dogs are eating it but have bigger stools and more poop!

    By on

My dogs seemed to like it. They did pretty good on it. I did notice larger stools and more of them. I won't be purchasing it again because they changed the ingredients and now have added chicken meal and my allergy girl can no longer eat it. If they hadn't added the chicken meal I would have added to my list of a variety for my two. It also only comes in 30 lb bags.

  • She's likes it, yea!!

Well I purchased this food as it is lower in fat and except for a little chicken fat that is in it, it is not made with chicken per se, which I have learned my dog is allergic to. I have not been able to find a dog foot that does not have chicken fat in it. Oh well. Nonetheless my dog is eating the food which is great as she is a little chubber. Lol I would have given it a 5 star if it were not for the chicken fat.

  • Pancreatitis

    By on

My 4 year old Boxer was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis a few months back. We had trouble finding a food that was low in fat and poultry free. The prescription food made him itch like crazy. I found this and decided to try it. It's been 2 months and he is thriving. He was recently retested for pancreatitis and landed in normal range. This is working wonderfully for him.

Ordering from Chewy made things much easier for me. Having my dog's food was convenient. My only complaint is that it was delivered to the wrong apartment and I had to carry the 30 pounds up to the second level any way.

  • Delicious and Nutritious

This is the first dog food that my Cairn Terrier actually looks forward to eating. He is happy and healthy for being 14 years old. For several months, we had him on a brand that was widely advertised on TV. He kept getting sick with vomiting. Thinking he was ill, we took him to the vet. First thing he asked was; "Did you change his food? And to what?" As soon as we told him, he said that he many people bringing their pets in with same symptoms after switching to the advertised food. We immediately stopped that food. Then we came across the Nutro Lamb and Rice. We tried it, and he liked it! Plus looking at the ingredients, it is a very healthy brand. Highly recommend it.

  • Nutro Adult

We have multiple dogs... and after 4 (FOUR) of our dogs succumbed to cancer after having been on GMO grain-based dog food, we came to the conclusion that the main factor for their developing cancer, was due to their diet. We hence switched ALL dogs to Nutro, including our GSD puppy - and they ALL are a picture of health !! Adults, juniors and puppy alike !!
